Abstract: Apparatus and method is disclosed for weaving a unique fabric from basic yarns, rather than exotic yarns, wherein several yarns are combined or united at the loom into a single yarn, one or more of which may be delivered to the filling inserting means of the loom.
Abstract: A bracket for supporting a console upon which a citizens band radio or tape player is mounted in a vehicle which permits readily removal of and mounting of the console. The bracket includes a base plate which has a substantially flat base through which fastening devices extend for securing the base plate to the vehicle. Opposed spaced elongated flanges extend outwardly at right angles to the base and spaced L-shaped slots are provided in the flanges with the slots in one flange being directly opposite the slots in the other flange. Outwardly extending studs are carried on the console. Each stud has an enlarged head on a remote end thereof and a reduced diameter intermediate portion. The studs are positioned on the console so as to be in alignment with the L-shaped slots of the base member whereby the console can be readily mounted on the base plate by inserting the studs into the L-shaped slots.
Abstract: A device and method for securing a reserve winding of thread on a tube supported on winding apparatus having a main thread guide and a thread delivery source wherein a reserve winding is formed from thread extending to a thread-holding device and thereafterwards severed with the free end of the reserve thread deflected toward the longitudinal center of the tube and covered with thread subsequently laid by the main thread guide.
Abstract: Apparatus for reinforcing a heddle frame slat of a weaving loom is disclosed wherein reinforcing side plates are provided on opposing sides of frame slats of the heddle frame in an area wherein a drive connector is connected with the frame slats which support and reciprocate the heddle frame during shedding and wherein slats and a portion of the plate means are made to contact and provide a reinforced wear surface for the drive connector as well as make rigid integral connection with a latch carried within the interior of the frame slats which engages with the drive connector.
Abstract: An artificial lumber board comprises a plurality of elongated wood strips having medial body portions of different thicknesses and tapered tip end portions being thinner and more flexible than the medial portions wherein the wood strips are aligned longitudinally in the board and compressed. The compressed wood strips lap and bend over one another to form generally continuous sinuous wood grain-like structures extending along the board with the tapered tip portions providing generally point contact fitting of the wood strips with one another reducing the presence of void spaces in the board.
Abstract: A device for controlling the bobbin drive of a flyer roving frame which has a bobbin, a flyer and drive roll thereon that are utilized for building a bobbin with yarn. A drive for the frame incorporating a differential gear and controls are provided for adjusting the driving speed of the flyer and drive roll stepwise to different rotational speed stages during the building of the bobbin. An additional speed adjusting device is provided for automatically varying the driving speed of the bobbin within each rotational speed stage. A switching device is provided for automatically switching the rotational speed stages.
Abstract: A rod hook device is disclosed for a heddle frame of a weaving loom for connecting a heddle rod to a frame slat of the heddle frame wherein the rod hook device includes a base portion receivable in a longitudinal groove formed in the frame slat provided with unique biasing means which facilitate sliding of the base in the groove while providing a tight engagement between shoulder means formed on the base portion and projections formed in the groove.

Abstract: A loom takeup apparatus is illustrated wherein cloth is fed directly from the loom to the takeup utilizing an oscillating roll which is slidably mounted for axial oscillation on the longitudinal axis of the roll for distributing the cloth so that the edge or selvage portions which are often thickened do not remain in register but rather build in such a fashion as to avoid excessively large end portions of the roll.
Abstract: A grid structure is illustrated for positioning in interwoven relation therewith a length of fabric in open width constituting an assembly useful as a ceiling and the like inside buildings.
Abstract: A table signal device for signalling for service in a restaurant, lounge and the like includes a signal mechanism which may be raised by the patron to signal for service and lowered by the waiter or waitress upon rendering service to the patron wherein the signal mechanism is illuminated and is highly visible both in lighted and dark rooms.
Abstract: A directional horizontal beam antenna is disclosed having a pair of driven circular loop elements mechanically coupled and carried closely adjacent one another in a vertical manner producing a directional signal which may be shifted between vertical and horizontal polarization wherein the circular loop elements are formed by a plurality of flexible straight sections having a unique construction.
Abstract: A hydroponic bedding tray and nutrient feeding apparatus is disclosed which is particularly advantageous for outdoor use wherein trough means in fluid communication with a nutrient mixing reservoir are formed below a bottom floor of the bedding tray so that a plant contained in an inert media within the bedding tray is fed through capillary action and the bedding tray floor is sloped so as to avoid drainage into the trough means and dilution of the nutrient solution in the reservoir.
Abstract: A grid set for use on an article loading machine for guiding cartons of articles such as drinks into a case carried therebelow. A plurality of guide arms are pivotally carried in a rectangular frame directly below a drop assembly for guiding the cartons of drinks into a cardboard case ensuring that the corners of the case are extended fully. Cam means cooperate with the guide arms for holding the cartons of drinks as the entire frame is lowered to the case for gently depositing the cartons of drinks into the case.
Abstract: A method and apparatus of detecting faulty operations of spinning units of an open-end spinning machine by monitoring the faults appearing in the yarn being produced by the machine and generating a fault signal responsive thereto. Another speed responsive signal is produced responsive to the speed that the yarn is being delivered from the spinning compartment of the machine. The fault signal is fed to a variable gain amplifier which has its gain controlled by the speed responsive signal. The signal produced by the amplifier is then differentiated, shaped, and integrated. The integrated signal is, in turn, compared with a threshold value for determining when the faults in the yarn exceed a predetermined level.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for lining a housing which receives an opening roller of a fiber opening device for an open-end spinning apparatus by means of a finite metal band, wherein the housing comprises apertures in its generated surface which connect the interior of the housing to other parts of the spinning apparatus and to which apertures in the metal band correspond.
Abstract: A wood splitter apparatus in which a wedge is fixed to a weight mounted slidably on two vertical spaced support tubes. A link chain is fixed to the weight and fitted over a sprocket pulley at the top of the support tubes to which a pulley and engine is fixed by a clutch. A first latch is pivotally mounted to a support tube so as to automatically latch the weight in the upwards position when the weight is lifted past the latch. A clutch lever is pivotally mounted to the support tube so as to be engaged by a bolt fixed to the weight, when the weight is lifted above the latched position, with the clutch lever, when engaged, serving to disengage the clutch. A second latch is pivotally supported to the structure so as to be automatically positioned to a latched position to hold the weight in the upward position. A rotary spring coil take-up reel is attached by a flexible rope to the link chain to maintain the chain under tension about the sprocket pulley.
Abstract: A rotational molding system is disclosed in which a pair of large boat molds carried on separate carriages are alternately heated in a double open-ended oven having opposing cantilevered side sections for receiving concentric drive arrangements wherein the molds may be driven about two perpendicular axes in a rocking or full rotational motion.
