    Abstract: An off-premises method and apparatus for the interdiction of unauthorized channels of a broadband cable television signal includes common circuitry for adjusting the amplitude and equalization levels of the broadband CATV signals and one or more subscriber modules for generating jamming signals of different frequencies which are used to interdict one or more unauthorized channels. Each subscriber module is associated with a subscriber and is programmable and addressable to adjust the jamming parameters of that subscriber independently of other subscribers. Each subscriber module circuit comprises a plurality of latches, each of which is associated with one of a plurality of digital to analog converters. Each of the digital to analog converters drives one or more frequency agile oscillators with its analog output to generate the jamming signals.

    Abstract: A rodent bait station for the eradication of rats, mice and other rodents and vermin, which is safe for use around children, pets and other non-target species. The bait station includes an outer housing and an inner housing slidably movable with respect to the outer housing. The inner housing is movable between open, closed, and extended positions. When the inner housing is in the extended position, poisonous bait can be loaded into the bait station. When the inner housing is in the open position, rodents can access the poisonous bait located in the bait station. When the inner housing is in the closed position, the poisonous bait is substantially sealed within the bait station. The inner housing automatically moves from the open position to the closed position in response to being lifted off a supporting surface, thereby preventing the exposure of the poisonous bait to non-target species.

A data processor determines a forbidden band of locations on the surface of the earth all possible geostationary satellites and the non-geostationary satellite, at its determined position, are separated by less than a specified minimum discrimination angle.

    Abstract: A window for use in a monochrome LCD or gas plasma display is provided with a "Color Finder" button for identifying each of 16 (or 64) colors to be displayed. By activating a button in the window, the indicated gray scale for that color is temporarily inverted so that it oscillates between its current value and its most opposite value. This technique "flashes" the associated shade of gray on the screen, thereby informing the user that the color is in use on the screen and pinpointing just where the color is being displayed. Consequently, this invention allows the computer user to limit gray scale adjustments only to those that are needed.

Another member of the nested genes encodes the assembly protein precursor, which is a substrate for the proteinase. Homologous genes are found in other herpes viruses. Cleavage sites recognized by the proteinase are identified in cytomegalovirus and are found to be highly conserved in other herpes viruses.
