Abstract: A coupling assembly for coupling a blade assembly of a removable jar to a motor located in the base of a blender includes a tapered metallic male coupler that is received into a tapered non-metallic female coupler. An electromagnetic field is generated to secure the male coupler in the female coupler.
Abstract: Disclosed is a beverage dispenser of the type for dispensing beverage into a server. The dispenser includes a housing having a body and an overhanging portion protruding from the housing. A dispensing area is defined between the overhanging portion of the body. The housing is configured for dispensing beverage therefrom. An extension is provided protruding from the body of the housing into the dispensing area. The extension is positioned proximate to an area which retains at least one server in the dispensing area. A void is defined in the dispensing area between the extension and the overhanging portion. The void helps facilitate ease of access to the dispenser and server as well as facilitating ease of access to the servers, removal and replacement of the servers as well as maintenance, repair, operation and other aspects of the dispenser.
Abstract: A method of forming a single crystalline structure having a substantially linear response at least over the wave lengths of 1,200 to 1,700 nanometers, the resulting structure and its use as an optical media or a barrier coating. Thus, maximum obtainable optical transmission with zero attenuation is provided. There is no intrinsic material absorption.
Abstract: A process for making an improved gypsum/wood fiber board is described. Products resulting from the process are also described. The process comprises adding a diisocyanate, specifically methylenediphenyldiisocyanate (MDI) to an aqueous slurry of calcium sulfate material and cellulosic fibers, where the MDI is added as an emulsion stable in the conditions in which the slurry is maintained. The process further includes passing the MDI containing slurry onto a flat porous forming surface to form a filter cake; removing a substantial portion of the water from the filter cake through the porous surface; pressing the filter cake to form a board and remove additional water; and drying the board to remove the remaining free water.
