  • Patent number: 7921644
Abstract: A power transmission for a thermal elastic wire including a frame for supporting a pair of anchor posts which stretch said wire there between. One of the posts being pivoted in the frame and having an extension arm projecting therefrom towards the other post. A spring biased rotator drum is rotatably supported in the frame proximate to the end of the extension arm. A flexible connection interconnects the periphery of the rotator drum with the end of the extension arm of the pivoted anchor post. A power takeoff connection on the rotator drum is provided for the attachment of a connecting link there to whereby as the thermal elastic wire changes phase, a smooth power stroke can be extracted from the transition at the power takeoff connection and stored in a spring.

  • Patent number: 7901164
Abstract: A debris shield for a rotary tool or machine for collecting debris generated while cutting or drilling holes in a work surface has a debris collection housing having a top structure, side walls depending from said top cover structure to form a debris collection chamber, an open bottom with a surface contact rim, and a compression axis extending through the housing's top structure and bottom opening. In one aspect of the invention, the debris collection housing is a bellows housing with a vacuum port, and has a shank-holding and vent assembly in top structure of the bellows housing for receiving and rotatably holding the shank of a rotary surface working implement such as a drill bit, spade bit or hole saw.

  • Patent number: 7883237
Abstract: A lamp heat extractor device for lowering the cold spot temperature of a fluorescent lamp includes a base portion adapted to be attached to a heat conductive portion of the fluorescent lighting fixture proximate the fixture's lamp socket or sockets, and an extended sleeve end portion thermally connected to the base portion by a conductive connector portion. The conductive connector portion positions the extended sleeve portion so that it contacts the cold spot end of the fluorescent lamp or lamps held by the lamp sockets of the fixture to allow heat transfer to the fixture housing to which the heat extractor device is attached. Suitably, the outer surface of the extended sleeve end portion of the heat extractor device can have a plurality of radially extending fins for increasing surface area for heat radiation from the extended sleeve portion, thereby increasing the overall heat extracting efficiency of the device.

  • Patent number: 7845821
Abstract: Fluorescent lighting fixture modules for indirect lighting of interior spaces, each module including at least one, and preferably a pair of side-by-side parallel linear indirect fluorescent lighting fixture elements suspended at fixed grid pattern locations beneath the ceiling of the open interior space. Each of the linear indirect lighting fixture elements is preferably no greater than approximately six feet in length with a suitable length being somewhat greater than four feet where a four foot lamp is used. Where the fixture elements are provided in pairs, each is suspended below the ceiling at its fixed grid location by a suitable hanger structure with a preferred overall fixture module width of approximately four feet.

  • Patent number: 7771529
Abstract: A cementitious composition for high density, low porosity sheet-form building materials having solid surfaces is comprised of cement, pozzolans, and a high percentage of fine and/or coarse glass aggregate, preferably present in an amount which by weight is at least 60% of the composition. The cement content is relatively low, preferably in the range of about 3% to 20% by weight, and the pozzolan to cement ratio is relatively high, preferably equal to or greater than unity, but which can suitably be in the range from 0.25 to 4. The composition preferably uses recycled glass and preferably has a high recycle content. The sheet-form material made in accordance with the invention can be used to provide exposed solid surfaces, for example, surfaces for shower walls and floors, counter-tops, table-tops, and the like, where low hydraulic permeability and high compressive and tensile strength are desired.

  • Patent number: 7748390
Abstract: A stretch comb hair retainer has opposed combs (11, 13) connected together by elastic strands (a-h) that are secured at spaced intervals along the spines of the combs. The elastic strands are interwoven to form a elastic mesh (25) of stretchable openings (27, 29) between the combs which hold down the hair. Hair can be pulled through any of the multiple stretchable openings of the mesh if and as desired to create particular hair styles. The individual elastic strands of the elastic mesh can be used without decorative elements on the strands, or with decorative elements such as decorative beads (31, 33) of various sizes and shapes.
