Abstract: The invention consists in a method of playing a participation game involving comparison of players' objects (a.k.a. game cards) with a common object (a.k.a. draw result) remaining the same until the end of the game. The method involves players placing requests. Upon reception of requests, the system provides the requesting player with a game card and the active draw result. The system evaluates if a comparison between the game card and draw result fulfills an end-of-game criterion. When such criterion is fulfilled, the game card is declared a winning card and the system prevents the distribution of new cards. Otherwise, the system continues providing cards until the criterion is fulfilled. Accordingly, a suitable system is also described for the play of said participation game.

Abstract: There is herein described a catheter for measuring a pressure in a cardiovascular system. The catheter comprises: a guiding tube adapted for insertion into the cardiovascular system. The guiding tube defines a lumen for sliding a guidewire therethrough. The catheter further comprises a tip pressure sensor eccentrically mounted relative to the guiding tube and a signal communication means extending therefrom. The tip pressure sensor is for sensing a pressure in the cardiovascular system and the signal communicating means is for transmitting a signal indicative of the pressure to a processing device in order to obtain a pressure measurement reading.

Abstract: A composite material comprising a plurality of fiber tape strips woven or braided together. Each of the plurality of fiber tape strips is made of a single layer of unidirectional fibers. The fibers are at least partially embedded in a thermoplastic matrix. A tubular composite part is made from this composite material and of an internal film. A method of manufacturing the composite material comprises weaving or braiding the fiber tape strips, especially in the form of a tube. A method of manufacturing a composite part comprises pressurizing the film inside the tube while heating both the tube and the film up to their forming temperature so as to bond the film to the woven fiber tape strips.

Abstract: A helmet for receiving a compatible visor comprises a shell and two guiding mechanisms. Each guiding mechanisms is located on a different side of the shell and is adapted to receive the compatible visor. The guiding mechanisms guide the compatible visor along a confined path extending from a retracted position, where the compatible visor is proximate a frontal portion of the shell and substantially outside a field of view of the wearer, to a deployed position where the compatible visor is substantially below a frontal lower edge and within the field of view of the wearer. The guiding mechanisms guide at least a lower portion of the compatible visor substantially towards a rear portion of the shell when the compatible visor is in the deployed position. The compatible visor has a lens, a face seal and one mounting interface on each side of the lens.

Abstract: Method of operating a line game wherein the values of a meter are displayed as different statuses of an evolving symbol. The meter gathers symbols, combinations of symbols, events that are dependent of the game outcome (like winning or losing outcomes, prizes, etc.), or events that are independent of the game outcome (like spins, bet values, lengths of time, etc.). The evolving symbol statuses are used in the line game to trigger features ranging from a wild symbol to a bonus payout which can take the form of a progressive jackpot.

Abstract: The present document describes a pivotable handle assembly for mounting on a support. The assembly comprises a rotation-blocking portion comprising a pivot axis, the rotation-blocking portion for being rotatable about the pivot axis and relative to the support when in an unlocked position, and when in a locked position, the rotation blocking portion for preventing its rotation about the pivot axis; a handle depending from the rotation blocking portion; and a locking mechanism comprising a push-button and a lock release. The locking mechanism is for locking the rotation-blocking portion in the locked position, and for unlocking the rotation-blocking portion in the unlocked position upon a pushing motion being applied to the push-button to actuate the lock release, the unlocked position thereby allowing the handle to be pivoted about the pivot axis.

Abstract: The present document describes a composite material adapted to resist degradation by an erosive agent. The composite material comprises a steel base and crystals embedded in the steel base. At least 50% of the crystals have an elongated portion. Optionally, the composite material comprises an external surface for exposure to the erosive agent. At least 50% of the elongated portions are transverse to the external surface. A filler material is also described for forming the composite material on a ferrous surface by welding. The filler material comprises iron, carbon, boron, molybdenum and silicon. Methods are also described form forming the composite material.

Abstract: A system and method for comic creation and editing utilizes pre-drawn comic objects arranged in comic panels. Comic panels include pre-drawn comic objects with articulatable parts which may be manipulated by a user of a networked user computer such as by use of a web browser. Comic panels created or edited by a user can be stored and retrieved from a central comic server. A system and method for translating text in comic panels is also provided. Additionally a system and method for linking comic objects in a comic panel to other web resources is disclosed.

Abstract: There is described a system and a method for generating a metatag indicative of an attribute of a person represented in an image, the method comprising: performing a computer-based analysis of the image; identifying a feature related to the attribute of the person in the image using results from the computer-based analysis; generating the metatag based on the identified feature; and associating the metatag to the image, the metatag being thereby related to the attribute of the person.

Abstract: A tournament feature is herein disclosed. This tournament feature allows asynchronous participations in which, upon or after the tournament feature ending, scores resulting from participations are evaluated to determine a winner to be awarded a prize. In an embodiment, a method of providing the tournament feature comprises conducting a wagering game on a gaming machine; monitoring activity on the gaming machine; generating a tournament participation invitation based on said activity monitoring; detecting the invitation on the gaming machine; providing a tournament participation on the gaming machine, comprising conducting a tournament play sequence depending on which a tournament score is obtained; storing the score with a plurality of scores throughout conduct of the tournament feature; evaluating stored scores after the end of the tournament feature to determine a winning score; and awarding a prize to the player who entered the winning score.

Abstract: There is described a method for setting up a call over the Internet between a Web-based phone and a phone device. The Web-based phone is loaded on a Java-enabled computing device. The call involves a Web application hosted on an external server capable of communication with a SIP Server on which the Web-based phone is pre-registered. Upon request from the computing device, the external server sends an HTTP message to a SIP Switch which in turn forwards a SIP NOTIFY message to the computing device through the SIP Server. The Web-based phone then pops up on the computing device and the call initiation can be confirmed. There is also described a platform independent Web-based phone as well as a Web application for auto-populating a contact directory from contacts on a social networking Web site.

Abstract: The present document describes a clip for securing a tight connection between two modular panels. The connection has a male portion on a first one of the two modular panels, and a female portion on a second one of the two modular panels. The male portion is for being inserted into the female portion upon assembly of the two modular panels side by side. The clip comprises a first flat member having a first pressure edge, and a second flat member having a second pressure edge. The second flat member is fixedly joined to the first flat member. The panels are assembled in an assembly direction. Upon introduction of the first flat member into the male portion, and of the second flat member into the female portion perpendicularly to the assembly direction, the first pressure edge of the first flat member forces the male portion toward the female portion, while the second pressure edge of the second flat member forces the female portion toward the male portion.

Abstract: The present document describes a bag for storing and drying garments or sports equipment. The bag comprises an external envelope substantially made of flexible resistant material. The bag further comprises a frame supporting the external envelope and comprising frame sections capable of adopting a retracted position and an extended position in which the frame occupies more space than in the retracted position. The bag further comprises a tubular structure for hanging the garments or sports equipment and through which air can be blown for drying the hung garments or sports equipment. The tubular structure is mounted on the frame and comprises tube sections capable of adopting a retracted position and an extended position in which the tubular structure occupies more space than in the retracted position.

Abstract: A lumber transfer system and a method for individually transferring lumbers from a feeding conveyor to an outfeed conveyor. Detectors are used for monitoring a lumber presence along a corridor on a longitudinal conveying surface. Motorized blocking fingers located about the corridor and transversally spaced along the conveying surface are provided and are configured for moving between blocking and unblocking positions. A controller is also provided, the controller having at least one input for receiving detecting signals from the detectors respectively, the detecting signals of the detectors being respectively associated to the motorized blocking fingers.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to software functional modules and, in particular, to such modules used for delivering hybrid static and dynamic content. More particularly, there is described a computer-readable storage medium and corresponding method. The storage medium comprises: (a) a repository of static content; and (b) a program element for execution by a computing device to deliver hybrid content via a user interface. Abstract: The present document describes a dock unit attachable to another dock unit with a fastener for forming a floating dock. The dock unit comprises a floating body having a mating surface and an attachment adapted to receive the fastener. Thereby attaching the floating body is able to be attached to the other dock unit. The dock unit further comprises a cover for covering the mating surface, the cover having a contact surface adapted to contact the fastener. In use, the contact surface is positioned proximate the attachment so that, when the attachment receives the fastener, the contact surface is contacted by the fastener, thereby limiting the movement of the cover with respect to the floating body.
