    Abstract: A process for preparing a polyester carbonate is provided. The process comprises the steps of: (I) reacting a diacid with a carbonic acid diester and a catalyst in the presence of a polycarbonate oligomer via melt condensation polymerization to form a pre-polymer; and (II) reacting the pre-polymer via solid state polymerization to form a polyester carbonate.
