  • Patent number: 7575489
Abstract: To provide a small watercraft capable of suppressing vibration and noise of a vessel body, a jet pump is mounted to a hull via a thrust plate. A dynamic damper is disposed as an adjunct at a plate mounting portion that attaches the thrust plate to the hull. More specifically, the thrust plate is first mounted to the hull. Then, with a flange portion of the jet pump pressed up against a rear surface of the thrust plate, a second bolt is screwed in toward the thrust plate from an outward side of the hull. The jet pump is thereby attached to the rear surface of the thrust plate.

  • Patent number: 7234571
Abstract: A method and apparatus for combining raw fibrous and binding materials in a single mixing step (Step S3), followed by consolidation (Step S5) so as to greatly shorten the overall cycle time to a finished fiber-reinforced composite part. Chopped fibrous materials and binder materials are deposited sequentially onto a belt conveyor (Step S2) so that the materials are successively layered, one on top of each other in a predetermined ratio, and subsequently mixed (Step S3) to achieve uniform dispersion throughout. The mixed materials are then deposited into a rotating mold (Step S4) to further ensure uniform dispersion of fibrous and binder materials. Impregnation of the fibrous materials with the binder material occur in-situ as the uniformly mixed materials are heated and subsequently compacted in the mold (Step S5) to obtain the desired shape of the fiber-reinforced composite part.

  • Patent number: 7134430
Abstract: A cutting segment for a cutting tool used for cutting or drilling a brittle workpiece, such as stone, brick, concrete and asphalt, a method of manufacturing the segment and a cutting tool provided with the segment are disclosed. The segment comprises a plurality of plate-shaped metal matrix layers laminated perpendicular to a cutting surface of the segment while being parallel to a cutting direction of the segment, the plate-shaped metal matrix layers being integrally combined with each other and made of a ferrous or non-ferrous material; and diamond particle layers arranged between the plate-shaped metal matrix layers such that diamond particles can be provided in an array on the cutting surface. The segment has an excellent cutting capability, and can be made by a simplified manufacturing process, thereby remarkably reducing manufacturing costs.

  • Patent number: 6334773
Abstract: A procedure and an arrangement for determining a three dimensional shape of a dental object includes the steps of providing a laser, a matrix of photo-detectors, and a controller; scanning a first narrow laser beam from the laser across a first surface area of the dental object; reflecting the first narrow laser beam away from the object; receiving a first scanning image of the reflected first narrow laser beam on the matrix of photo-detectors; determining first elevation profile data based upon the first scanning image relating to the first surface area; changing a relative angle between the laser, matrix of photo-detectors or dental object; scanning a second narrow laser beam from the laser across a second surface area of the dental object; reflecting the second narrow laser beam away from the object; receiving a second scanning image of the reflected second narrow laser beam on the matrix of photo-detectors; determining second elevation profile data based upon the second scanning image relating to the seco

  • Patent number: 6311483
Abstract: To provide an apparatus for feeding secondary air to exhaust gas in an engine. The apparatus includes a cylinder head having an exhaust port for discharging exhaust gas from a combustion chamber and a secondary air feed passage for feeding secondary air to exhaust gas flowing through the exhaust port. The apparatus is capable of making a length of the secondary air feed passage as short as possible while preventing the permeation of exhaust gas into the secondary air feed passage. This avoids the enlargement of the entire engine, when disposing a reed valve in the engine, since the reed valve is mounted to the cylinder block. A secondary air passage includes a first passage portion extending in a straight line with one end opened toward the inner surface of an exhaust port, toward the downstream side of exhaust gas in the flowing direction.

  • Patent number: 6286818
Abstract: Internal members or baffles for material exchange columns have at least one packing bed. The packing bed has at least one first packing block and at least one correction element associated with the first packing block. The first packing block and its associated correction element produce different final distributions of liquid or systematic maldistributions. The systematic maldistribution in the liquid phase caused by the first packing block is largely corrected by the systematic maldistribution of the associated correction element. Such an arrangement makes possible enhanced separation efficiency or higher packing beds.

  • Patent number: 6269896
Abstract: A radiator cover for covering the side of a radiator. The inside of the radiator cover forms an expelled air path with air being expelled to the outside of the vehicle from an expelled air port of a side section thereof. An intake path for the flow of fresh air is formed in a longitudinal direction and includes an intake port and a duct. An opening section is formed in part of the duct, the opening section being opened and closed by a louver actuated by an actuation member. Expelled air thereby controllably enters the opening section into the duct and is mixed with fresh air. Thus, fresh air can be effectively temperature controlled. The mixed air is expelled from the duct to the rear of the radiator cover.

  • Patent number: 6251860
Abstract: The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions of transferrin and to the manufacture of such preparations. The present invention concerns specifically a pharmaceutical composition of apotransferrin, the iron-free form of transferrin, wherein the composition has at least 90% of the theoretical iron binding capacity of iron-free transferrin, contains less than 3% transferrin dimers and no detectable transferrin polymers or aggregates, and has an iron-saturation of less than 5%. The pharmaceutical apotransferrin composition of this invention effectively binds non-transferrin-bound-iron to a harmless form when administered as an intravenous injection or infusion to patients. The pharmaceutical composition of this invention does not contain viruses, denatured forms of transferrin or other harmful components.

  • Patent number: 6105958
Abstract: Sheet collecting device for the selective collection of sheets of different dimensions on a number of supports located below one another. Every support located below the uppermost support can be moved in a y-direction transversely of the x-direction in which sheets are fed onto the support, from a collection position in which the support is located substantially directly below the uppermost support and to an extraction position in which the support protrudes beyond the other supports. Every support can also be moved in the transverse y-direction between two collection positions which are displaced over a short distance in relation to one another in order to make a distinction between the sheets collected on the support. A warning light at every support warns a user not to move a support in use to its extraction position and to move a support in extraction position to the collection position when a sheet to be collected is fed in.
