  • Patent number: 6276255
Abstract: Soft body armor has a ballistic panel having an interleaved construction of a generally vertically oriented plurality of layers of interleaved sheets or woven fiber cloth and sheets of cross plied unidirectional tape adjacently interleaved in an interleave ratio of plies of cross plied unidirectional tape to plies of woven fiber cloth within each layer of the plurality of layers, the plurality of layers forming a non-quilted array between a front face of the ballistic panel and a back face of the ballistic panel, wherein the interleave ratio of plies of cross plied unidirectional tape to plies of woven fiber cloth within each layer of the plurality of layers is between 1:1 and 4:4, and wherein the total number of the plies of cross plied unidirectional tape is equal to or greater than the total number of the plies of woven fiber cloth within the plurality of layers.

  • Patent number: 5832817
Abstract: A paper sample press has a drawer slidably mounted on a base. A plurality of generally vertical guide posts are mounted on the base on opposed sides of the drawer. The drawer has a lower platen mounted thereon for supporting a stack of paper samples. The drawer is slidable on the base from a retracted position between the guide posts to an extended position wherein the lower platen is extended out from between the guide posts, and returnably slidable on the base from the extended position to the retracted position. A vertically selectively actuable press cover is vertically mounted on a piston above the lower platen when the drawer is in the retracted position. The piston is selectively actuable so as to selectively lower and elevate the press cover between a raised position and a lowered paper sample engaging position.

  • Patent number: 5653318
Abstract: A hard-shell bottom for releasable attachment to a soft-sided carrying case has a lower exterior surface comprising a fluid impermeable base platform having a lower surface and substantially vertical side surfaces contiguous to the lower surface and extending continuously around the lower surface so as to form a container having interior surfaces. The lower surface is sized to correspond in shape to the lower exterior surface of the soft-sided carrying case and the side surfaces sized to snugly fit over side portions of the lower exterior surface of the soft-sided carrying case. The releasable fasteners are attached to at least one surface of the interior surfaces for releasable mating securement to corresponding releasable fasteners means attached to the lower exterior surface of the soft-sided carrying case.

  • Patent number: 5647803
Abstract: A device for cutting threads into an unthreaded end of a shaft member has a cutting blade support member mountable on a first side of an elongate frame, an adjustably moveable shaft support mountable on a second end of the elongate frame in opposed relation to the cutting blade support member, and means for adjustably moving the shaft support member between a shaft clamping position and a shaft releasing position. The cutting blade support member has cutting blades in radially spaced apart relation depending therefrom, the radially spaced arrangement so as to engage the cutting blades tangentially with a shaft held between the cutting blades and the shaft supporting member when the shaft supporting member is in the shaft clamping position. The elongate frame rigidly supports the cutting blade support member and the shaft support member in opposed relation when the shaft is clamped therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5645680
Abstract: A produce labeller has first and, optionally, second selectively actuable label supply cartridge for selectively supplying labels from the fast or second selectively actuable label supply cartridge to corresponding fast and second label transfer positions in a fast plane. A rotatable label transfer piston housing is provided, rotatable in the first plane on a drive shaft. The rotatable label transfer piston housing has mounted radially therein in the fast plane radially spaced apart resiliently biased radially telescoping label transfer pistons for picking up labels from the fast or second selectively actuable label supply cartridge at the fast or second label transfer position, and rotationally carrying the labels from the first or second label transfer position to a label deposit point. The labels are carried on exposed ends of the radially spaced apart resiliently biased radially telescoping label transfer pistons, one label per exposed end, by selectively actuable vacuum apertures on each exposed end.

  • Patent number: 5501561
Abstract: A foot mountable drywall positioning device has a drywall positioning lever pivotally mounted to a structure for releasably securing the lever to a boot, the lever rotatable between a lowered drywall engaging position and a raised position. The drywall lever has a first "U"-shaped bracket having an apex end, opposed ends opposite the apex end, and a fulcrum between the apex end and the opposed ends; the apex end having a platform for releasably engaging a sheet of drywall, the opposed ends pivotally connected to the a structure for releasably securing the lever to a boot, and the fulcrum depending downwardly from the first "U"-shaped bracket so as to be engagable with a floor surface when the lever is in the lowered drywall engaging position. Where the fulcrum is engaged with the floor surface the lever may be rotated about the fulcrum by lowering the means for releasably securing the lever to a boot to thereby raise the apex end and the drywall sheet releasably engaged thereon.
