  • Patent number: 5265265
Abstract: A portable radio communication device such as wristwatch receiver and/or transmitter is provided with an effective noise shielding structure. The portable radio communication device includes a high frequency analog circuitry for receiving and transmitting radio signals and further includes digital circuitry for data processing and display. The noise shielding structure protects high frequency noise from being transmitted to the analog circuitry from the digital circuitry and from other outside sources. The noise shielding structure is made of electrically conductive material. In another aspect of the invention, at least one circuit board constructed of a multi-layered construction having at least one inner printed wire pattern is provided. The inner printed wire pattern is set at ground potential with respect to the high frequency output from the analog circuitry. In this manner the inner printed wire pattern serves as a noise shielding member.

  • Patent number: 5262772
Abstract: A transponder scanner for scanning a passive transponder within a high noise environment has a housing. A ferrite rod is positioned within the housing. A high gauge thin wire is wound about the ferrite rod to form a magnetic coil so that adjacent coils of the magnetic coil are separated by a distance much greater than the diameter of the magnetic wire. A CPU receives the scanned signal corresponding to a preprogrammed code and an in house generated code and maps the preprogrammed code to the in house generated code.

  • Patent number: 5260899
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device for reading data from a selected memory cell. The memory cells are arranged in an array. First bit lines and word lines, coupled to the memory cells, are arranged in a matrix. The word lines select the selected cell. An amplification circuit amplifies the current passing through the selected memory cell and is coupled to the first bit. A second bit line is coupled to the amplification circuit and carries the amplified current. A sensing circuit coupled to the second bit line senses the current on the second bit line. As a result, the current passing through the selected memory cell is detected.

  • Patent number: 5252993
Abstract: A capping device for an ink jet printer includes a cap supported on a cap support member adapted to press the cap against a print head with a uniform pressure distribution despite variation in the positional relationship between the print head and the cap support member. The uniform pressure distributed is enhanced by supporting the cap by the support member in such a manner to permit the cap to pivot in at least two degrees of freedom. After the cap is sealed around an ink orifice of the printer, a preliminary suction operation reduces the pressure within a cavity defined by the cap and the print head. The pressure within the cavity is then returned to atmospheric pressure and then reduced again, but to a level which will not interfere with the ink meniscus level in the print head. The first period of suction lasts longer than the second suction period.
