  • Patent number: 6810784
Abstract: A glass transporting and locating system for a glass cutting table with a bridge extending across the glass cutting table which is movable along the length of the glass cutting table. A glass workpiece feeding table is positioned adjacent the glass cutting table and adapted to support a glass workpiece to be fed to the glass cutting table. At least one vacuum chuck is carried by the bridge at a position which can overlap a glass workpiece supported on the glass workpiece feeding table when the bridge is at one end of the glass cutting table. The system includes a device for aligning the glass workpiece which is supported on the glass workpiece feeding table. The alignment device may include a retractable stop on the bridge or on the glass workpiece feeding table. The retractable stop on the bridge may also be used for advancing finished workpieces off of the glass cutting table. The glass workpiece transporting and locating system is adapted to be easily retrofitted to existing glass cutting tables.

  • Patent number: 6769590
Abstract: An end to end anastomotic stapling device connects two lumen sections avoiding constricture at the anastomotic ring. An intraluminal end to end anastomotic stapler includes an expanding head and anvil designed to fire an anastomotic ring having an inner diameter at least equal to the nominal inner diameter of the remaining lumen sections. An extraluminal end to end lumen stapler is described attaching the lumen sections with an exterior flange type connection having anastomotic rings with a diameter larger than the inner diameter of the lumen sections whereby the anastomotic site has a diameter at least as great as the adjacent lumen sections.

  • Patent number: 6758359
Abstract: A container closure is disclosed which includes a shell attachable to a container around a container opening thereof. The shell has a shell opening in fluid communication with the container opening when the shell is attached to the container. A tip is received on the shell movable between a closed position sealing the shell opening and an open position. A cover is releasably attached to the shell in a manner indicative of the tip being positioned in the closed position when the cover is attached to the shell. Both the shell and the cover may be provided with tamper-evident bands. The present invention is particularly well adapted to be formed as a push-pull container closure for sports bottles and the like.

  • Patent number: 6679187
Abstract: A 100-125 ton capacity steel flat railcar hauls steel slabs with the capacity to alternatively haul steel coils. The car design allows steel slabs of various sizes and weights to be hauled efficiently by placing the slabs longitudinally on the car. The slabs are captive by side stanchions restricting the slabs from lateral movement and bulkheads at the ends preventing longitudinal movement of the slabs. The weight of the slabs is concentrated near the bolsters through raised mounting platforms. The railcar also has the capability to haul steel coils in a built-in trough over the bolster area. The end bulkheads restrict and position the steel coils allowing the coils in each trough to have a gap between them for ease of loading and unloading. The side stanchions restrict the steel coils from unwanted unloading due to coupler forces.
