Abstract: A front wheel brake device for forklifts is used in applying brake to a front wheel attached to opposite lateral bottom sides of a mast assembly. The device includes a support bracket provided at the bottom sides of the mast assembly, a brake housing fixed to the support bracket and received within the front wheel, a wheel hub fixedly secured to the front wheel, an axle shaft rotatably provided within the brake housing and engaged with a shaft portion of the wheel hub for unitary rotation with the front wheel, brake discs axially movably fitted to the axle shaft for unitary rotation therewith, friction plates alternately arranged between the brake discs and fitted to the brake housing for movement in an axial direction of the axle shaft, and a piston provided within the brake housing for, when operated, pressing the friction plates against the brake discs.
Abstract: A crossbow may include a main beam; a compound bow assembly mounted to the main beam including a riser and a pair of bow limbs; and a trigger mechanism mounted to the main beam for use in holding a bowstring in a cocked position. The crossbow may include wheels at opposite ends of the bow that operatively receive the bowstring. The wheels may be separated by a wheel distance (WD) when the crossbow is in an un-cocked position. The crossbow may also have a power stroke distance (PD) and the ratio WD/PD may be less than 2.0. The crossbow may include a foot stirrup being integral with the riser, the foot stirrup beginning behind the pair of bow limbs and extending beyond the bow limbs.
Abstract: A vertically storable combustion heater having a fuel tank having a generally-cylindrical passage formed in the fuel-tank housing through which an axle extends to support one or more wheels; a heating conduit that is coupled to the fuel tank and includes an outermost shell that is substantially concentric with an inner shell that has a smaller diameter than the outermost shell; a control panel that is connected to the combustion heater to interface with an operator and allows the operator to input instructions governing the operation of the combustion heater; a frame that at least partially encases the heating conduit and fuel tank; a hose having a return curve and nozzle; and a combustion chamber that is defined by the interior periphery of the inner shell.

Abstract: An adaptive relaying control system and method is disclosed for adapting coordination of protective measures provided to an electric-energy distribution system as a function of at least an ambient weather condition. A weather sensor senses the ambient weather condition within a region adjacent to at least a portion of the electric-energy distribution system. A control unit is operatively coupled to the weather sensor to receive a weather signal indicative of the ambient weather condition and determine whether a storm condition exists based at least in part on the weather signal. The control unit establishes a suitable control philosophy for adapting coordination of the protective measures provided to the electric-energy distribution system based at least in part on whether the storm condition exists.
Abstract: A safety helmet for protecting a user head includes a shell extending about the perimeter of the user's head. The shell has multiple layers of material suitable for protecting a person's head in the event of a crash or other impact. A front opening is formed in the shell to allow the user to see while wearing the helmet. A separate access opening is included at the rear of the helmet, which includes a channel member extending through the multiple layers.
Abstract: A method for analyzing historical outages at the customer level for the purposes of determining root-cause and possible corrective actions is described herein. The present invention enables a utility to identify problem areas and prevent future outages from occurring.
Abstract: A crossbow includes a safety mechanism located on the stock of the crossbow that prevents the crossbow from firing until the safety mechanism is properly engaged. The safety mechanism includes a push button that requires the operator appendages to be securely below the path of the traveling bolt before the trigger mechanism will release.
Abstract: A weapon, such as a crossbow or firearm, may have a main beam, a trigger mechanism mounted to the main beam and, a support rod that can be positioned into a first use position and a second stowed position. The support rod may have a first end used to support the main beam and a second end used to contact a ground surface. In one embodiment, a contact member with a hemispherical contact surface is attached to the second end of the support rod. In another embodiment, the support rod has a handgrip portion that receives a user's hand in supporting the weapon when shooting the weapon when the support rod is in the second stowed position. In still another embodiment, a mounting bracket is used to provide at least two locations for attaching the support rod to the main beam.
Abstract: A crossbow having a crossbow grip guard that has a member that extends outwardly in a direction that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the crossbow barrel or stock, and wherein the member extends for a length in a direction that is substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the crossbow barrel or stock.
Abstract: A crossbow may include a main beam: (a) a bow assembly including a bow and a bow string adapted to propel an arrow; (b) a trigger mechanism mounted to the main beam; (c) and a bow assembly mounting apparatus for use in selectively mounting the bow assembly at a first location on the main beam to provide a first draw weight and for use in selectively mounting the bow assembly to a second location on the main beam to provide a second draw weight that is substantially different from the first draw weight.
Abstract: A new and improved method for digital scanning and archiving is disclosed herein. The method includes sorting the associated documents into separate files, placing the files onto a movable table, digitally imaging the associated documents, coding the processed files, the coding relating to the post-processing procedure, and disposing of the files in accordance with the coding.

Abstract: A noise cancellation system includes a headphone having a sound transducer and a headphone speaker. Noise cancellation circuitry is provided remote from the headphone and supplies the headphone speaker and is supplied from the sound transducer. A filter normalizes the output from the sound transducer of the headphone to the noise cancellation circuitry.
Abstract: The device of this invention includes a frame assembly, a support bracket with an opening connected to the frame assembly, a first spring pivotably connected to the frame assembly, and a control mechanism. The control mechanism can be positioned into a first condition where an end of the spring is engaged to the opening in the support bracket and a second condition where the end of the spring is disengaged from the opening.
Abstract: A support for an exercise device includes a frame having a top, a bottom, and two lateral sides extending between the top and the bottom. The frame has a channel defined about an interior perimeter. The top, the bottom and the two lateral sides define an opening. The frame has a body support integrally formed with the frame. The body support is formed by a lower arcuate portion of each of the two lateral sides. A membrane is operatively connected to a carrier. The carrier is adapted to attach to the frame via the channel, and the membrane having a first side and a second side.
Abstract: A new and improved adjustable furnace leg assembly is described herein. The furnace leg assembly is adjustable once the furnace has been set on the assembly. The furnace leg assembly has a carriage bolt with a rounded head, which allows the assembly to support the furnace on any part of the rounded head so that if the furnace shifts at any point, the bolt will adjust and the pressure will shift to wherever needed on the head of the carriage bolt to keep the furnace level.
Abstract: A system and method of compression indexing and efficient proximity search of text data permits high speed search featuring ranking the relevance of search results according to closeness of desired terms within each portion of text found. The system includes (a) preparing target text, (b) creating a “compression index ebook”, (c) browsing in a compression index ebook, and (d) searching in a compression index ebook. To create the compression index, the method includes the steps of selecting target text, identifying tokens, such as words and punctuation strings, wherein each of the tokens has a frequency. The frequencies of each token are counted. Tokens are ranked from highest frequency to lowest frequency. The frequencies are compressed. The next step is assigning positions to each token frequency and compressing the positions to form a compression index ebook, which is stored in random access memory to eliminate disk seeks during browsing and searching.
