Abstract: "A variable level platform suspended from the gantry of a cargo container handling gantry crane by a pair of scissors jacks with fleet through wire rope reeving for suspending a lifting spreader thereunder whereby the platform effectively shortens the spreader lift lines for reducing container sway and container handling cycle times.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for vertically telescoping an automatic shuttle used for cargo container transfer in a cargo container handling gantry crane for reducing container handling cycle times.
Abstract: An improved safety barrier/ramp actuation mechanism for combination folding stair and platform wheelchair lifts which translate from one configuration to the other depending upon the purpose to be served and have a combination safety barrier/ramp at the outboard end of the platform, the mechanism comprising a triple link mechanism and internally contained piston and bellcrank for reciprocating said barrier/ramp, and a pressure relief for said system to prevent raising said barrier/ramp when a load is resting thereon in ramp position, and the invention includes new steps in the method of operation of the stair and lift combination to enhance the safety thereof.
Abstract: A Harley-Davidson motorcycle engine ignition timing device which electronically determines piston top dead center positioning and the degrees of spark plug ignition before or after TDC to permit dynamic setting and monitoring of the engine ignition timing.
Abstract: A combination folding stair and platform wheelchair lift which translates from one configuration to the other depending upon the purpose to be served utilizing a series of panels which form a flat platform or alternatively steps and risers and which reciprocate horizontally on a pair of side rails and which are raised and lowered vertically in a pair of side column frames by a pair of hydraulically driven endless chains.
Abstract: A double flush toilet valve apparatus for permitting full and partial flushes of a toilet water tank by providing a vent hole in the toilet flush valve float which can be opened by an extended additional force actuation of the toilet flush handle to permit flooding of the float valve and premature closing of the discharge outlet of the toilet tank which is regulated by a float which is attached to the actuation chain of the toilet valve. The vent hole is regulated by a flapper seal and flapper seal actuator disposed within the flush valve float.
Abstract: A liner of the intake casing for a water jet propulsion pump wherein the liner is made of a resilient material and is disposed internally of said casing surrounding the water impeller and is clamped in position by the pump assembly.

Abstract: A tank strap tightening actuator for securing a SCUBA air tank to a diver's backpack by means of a strap which engages the backpack and surrounds the tank with the two free ends of the strap being hooked to said actuator around said tank, said actuator being activated by compressed air to tighten the strap.
Abstract: A geodesic globe formed of identical overlapping and interlocking specific geometric configuration segments formed of a bendable material which can be folded and interlocked whereby if the pieces are printed with portions of a map of the world they form a puzzle which can be assembled into a globe.
Abstract: A passive sway arrest system for dockside cargo container handling cranes which includes mounting on the load-carrying trolley a pivotable platform which oscillates when a load being carried by the trolley sways with pendulum motion when the trolley is moved along the boom and girder of the crane, the oscillation of the platform providing a means to arrest sway.
Abstract: An improved round file holder having guide rails along the edges thereof for use in conjunction with a chain saw filing guide for sharpening chain saws and having a pair of identical stringer secured together to support the files from the ends thereof and held together by an adjustable fastener to accommodate different diameter files.
Abstract: A double flush toilet valve apparatus and method for permitting full and partial flushes of a toilet water tank by providing a vent hole in the toilet flush valve float which can be opened by an extended additional force actuation of the toilet flush handle to permit flooding of the float valve and premature closing of the discharge outlet of the toilet tank which is regulated by a float which is attached to the actuation chain of the toilet valve.
Abstract: An optical device for permitting a person to secure an improved rear view mirror to a protective headgear which can be adjusted to variable operative positions spaced in front of his eye.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for reduced radius turning for large cranes mounted on curved sections of rails or track which is effected by lifting the outboard sets of wheels of the crane supporting bogies which are located at the corners of the cranes disposed over the rails having the shortest radius of curvature on the inside of the turn and then lowering the bogies when the crane is on a straight section of track.
