Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a novel starchy substance having a retrogradation-resistance, a process for producing the starchy substance efficiently from a material starch by enzymatic reaction, and uses thereof. The present invention attains the above object by providing branched starch having 6-?-maltosyl- and/or 6-?-maltotetraosyl-structure(s) with a marked retrogradation-resistance, a process for producing the branched starch without lowering the molecular weight of material starch, and uses thereof.
Abstract: A non-reducing saccharide-forming enzyme and a trehalose-releasing enzyme, which have an optimum temperature in a medium temperature range, i.e., a temperature of over 40 or 45° C. but below 60° C.; and an optimum pH in an acid pH range, i.e., a pH of less than 7. The two-types of enzymes can be obtained in a desired amount, for example, by culturing in a nutrient culture medium microorganisms capable of producing the enzymes or by recombinant DNA technology.
Abstract: Articles with a tenaciously adherent diamond coating are made by forming a diamond coating on a base material by vapor-phase synthesis without causing any warpage of the coating. The diamond coating layer is formed on the surface of a base material having a number of pores formed by electric discharge or laser beams and having a depth of 0.0001-0.2 mm and a diameter of 0.001-0.02 mm. The pores may be connected to one another to form a groove. Suitable examples of the base material include molybdenum, tungsten, silicon, tungsten carbide, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, and cemented carbide mainly comprising tungsten carbide and cobalt and/or nickel.
Abstract: A wiper actuating mechanism for use in an oil pressure measuring gague is equipped with an additional auxiliary spring plate and a push rod guide sleeve in addition to an improved two-arm wiper and a round diaphram board which is provided with a vertical flange on the periphery thereof for confining a rubber packing in place. The two-arm wiper can assure constant contact of the wiper with two sides of a winding board on which a resistive wire is attached; and the push rod guide sleeve can retain a slidable push rod in place which is not welded to the diaphram board and to move linearly so as to precisely pivot the two-arm wiper; the auxiliary spring plate disposed right under the diaphram board is also intended to reinforce the operation of the diaphram.
