  • Patent number: 7690736
Abstract: In a liquid pump for a braking system of a vehicle, one end of a piston is slidably inserted into a cylindrical space of a housing member, and a sliding ring is provided on the piston. A suction chamber is formed by an inner peripheral surface of the housing member, an outer peripheral surface of the piston and the sliding ring. An inner diameter “Dk” of the housing member is made larger than an inner diameter “Dc” of the cylindrical space. As a result, the volume of the suction chamber is increased, without making the piston smaller in its diameter.

  • Patent number: 7692811
Abstract: A printed material is read to provide an image data thereof. The printed material includes an image of an original, and an additional image not recognized or hard to be recognized with naked eyes. The additional image is to be visualized when an image is formed based on the image data with an image forming apparatus. Further, the printed material includes and a code which represents information. When the code is detected in the image data, a stamp image is synthesized with the image data based on the detected code. Then, the image data synthesized with the stamp image is provided. For example, an image is printed based on the image data.

  • Patent number: 7690899
Abstract: A piston pump includes a first piston pump including a first piston and a first pump chamber, a second piston pump including a second piston and a second pump chamber, the second piston operating to follow the first piston, a pressure release passage formed in communication with the second pump chamber, and a relief valve provided at the pressure release passage and defining an upper limit discharge pressure of the second piston pump. When a discharge pressure of the second piston pump is equal to or smaller than the upper limit, a discharge fluid of the second piston pump is added to that of the first piston pump so as to flow into an outlet port. When the discharge pressure exceeds the upper limit, the discharge fluid is released to the pressure release passage and the discharge fluid of the first piston pump only flows to the outlet port.

  • Patent number: 7691043
Abstract: A filter making apparatus includes a positioning device having a passageway therethrough, with the passageway guiding a continuous flavor element such as a continuous strand of textile material from an inlet of the passageway to an outlet of the passageway. A liquid flavorant is introduced into the passageway at a desired flow rate and the strand of material carries the supplied liquid flavorant out of the positioning device at a rate substantially equal to the desired flow rate. A portion of the passageway can form a bath of the liquid flavorant supplied to the passageway through a separate inlet at approximately atmospheric pressure. A portion of the positioning device guides the continuous strand of material through the bath, or guides the strand to pass along the bottom of the passageway, and the saturated or partially saturated strand of material then exits from an outlet of the passageway to a point in the path of filter tow material that is being converged to form a filter rod.

  • Patent number: 7694233
Abstract: A graphical user interface provides a display of multiple items of information in a manner such that the user can comprehend the relationship of various items to one another over a wide span. At least some information containers are allocated a reduced amount of area in which to be viewed by the user. At least one container continues to be displayed in full view. In one embodiment, the containers are displayed in an overlapping arrangement. In a column view, the column containing the object that was last clicked upon, and the column showing the contents of the selected object, can be displayed in full view. The other columns may be only partially visible, due to the overlapping arrangement. When the user moves a cursor over a container with a reduced viewing area, the display changes to show that container in full view.

  • Patent number: 7692656
Abstract: Data tables that are required for the proper processing of font glyphs are automatically synthesized if they do not form part of an original font definition. The synthesized tables are stored in an annex file that is associated with the font, rather than being incorporated into the font definition. As a result, the integrity of the original font data is maintained, and does not adversely affect font protection systems that are based upon font data.
