  • Patent number: 6179605
Abstract: A machine for injection molding of plastic articles comprising a rotatable wheel having a plurality of molds mounted along the periphery thereof with spacers mounted therebetween, wherein each mold comprises two opposing sections pivotally attached to each other such that the mold opens radially towards the periphery of the wheel. The periphery of the molds and spacers are machined to a precise radius to collectively form a continuous circle. Each mold comprises a plurality of cavities wherein each cavity communicates with the exterior of the mold along the periphery thereof through an opening formed at the mold parting line. A stationary injection nozzle is machined to precisely conform to the periphery of the circular structure and to ride along the surface thereof as the wheel is rotated.

  • Patent number: 6165108
Abstract: An apparatus and method for exercising and improving the muscle tone of the feminine pelvic floor muscles utilizing an elongated vaginal insert having enlarged rounded ends and a substantially reduced cross-sectional middle portion. The ends of the apparatus are of different sizes in order to facilitate different levels of exercise, thus giving the apparatus a disproportional hourglass shape.

  • Patent number: 6146055
Abstract: An anchor for a mine roof bolt incorporates a single large rib at the top of a segmented shell. This single large rib is forced into the wall of the bore hole by the downward movement of an associated threaded camming nut during the first few revolutions of the roof bolt. The remainder of the outer surface is generally smooth or unserrated and provides a large bearing surface which is urged against the bore hole wall upon further rotation of the bolt. The camming nut has a specific shape flaring substantially near its upper end such that a relative large area of the bore hole wall below the rib is forced into compression. When fully engaged, the camming nut compresses a tightening washer of a metal alloy softer that the camming nut or the shell. The washer is forced into the threads of the nut thereby preventing loosening of the bolt.

  • Patent number: 6138773
Abstract: A improved apparatus for decelerating a piston and impacting rod assembly within a single stroke foundry impactor utilizing a non-metallic deceleration piston slidably positioned within a pressurized deceleration chamber mounted proximate the end of the bore containing the impactor piston and impacting rod assembly. The deceleration piston is biased towards the impactor bore by pressurization of the deceleration chamber, such that upon a stroke of the impactor, the residual kinetic energy of the piston and impacting rod assembly is absorbed by the biased deceleration piston.

  • Patent number: 6131380
Abstract: A power-driven lawnmower having a main chassis supporting an operator, a pair of forward drive wheels, and a steering wheel utilizes a floating mower deck which covers or houses at least one driven mower blade. The deck is connected to the main chassis by a pair of arms terminating in ball joints affixed to the mower deck which is supported on ground engaging wheels such that the mower deck follows the contour of the ground. A flexible drive belt is connected to a constant power take off element on the main chassis and to the drive mechanism on the deck such that belt is entrained over a constant distance due to the connection of the arms to the chassis and the mower deck.
