  • Patent number: 4427279
Abstract: A camera device for including separate information area on a photograph is disclosed utilizing means for modifying a conventional instant camera having a lens and photographic film. The device is interposed between the lens and photographic film to produce a composite photograph having an information portion and an image portion. To that end, the device includes an information carrying slide which is in light transmissive communication with a first portion of the film. A lamp housed within an opaque enclosure to direct light through the slide towards a first portion of the film, concurrently with the taking of a picture. When a picture is taken, light images pass through the lens to reach a second portion of the film, concurrently with the lamp being lit to produce a composite photograph containing both the light images and the information on respective portions of a single photograph.

  • Patent number: 4425477
Abstract: A device which automatically decreases the audio output of an audio system while a telephone is being used. The device includes sensor and control means, relay means, mode selection means and attenuation means. When the handset is removed from its cradle on a conventional telephone, an electrical signal is produced. The sensor and control means detects this signal and causes the relay means to interact with the attenuation means to effectuate a predetermined decrease in the audio output level of the audio system. The device automatically restores the audio output to its previous level upon the handset being returned to its normal position on the telephone cradle. The device's mode selection means enables one to operate the device in either an automatic mode, an attenuate mode or in a bypass (i.e., off) mode.

  • Patent number: 4424807
Abstract: A method of simulating a natural erection utilizing a penile implant which is arranged to be actuatable to simulate the natural erection. The implant comprises a pair of hollow, enclosed bladders, each formed of a membrane of thin, very flexible material and being capable of inflation from a flaccid state by the introduction of a fluid therein. Each bladder is located within a passageway formed in each corporus cavernosum. Means are provided for filling the bladders with fluid to inflate the bladders from the flaccid state to a predetermined volume without causing the bladder membrane to undergo tension. The predetermined volume is sufficiently great to cause the corpora cavernosa to expand so that its fibrous tissue envelope is stretched to encompass another predetermined volume, whereupon the fibrous tissue envelope becomes tense and the penis becomes hard and erect.

  • Patent number: 4423762
Abstract: A cavity in a body of particulate moulding material has at least one rib-like formation for gripping an object received in the cavity. In the case of a metal casting mould a riser sleeve (1) is inserted into a cavity (9) in the top part of the mould and the cavity (9) is produced by means of a tapered former (5) the exterior of which has a plurality of radially spaced apart recesses (6) extending between the top and towards the bottom of the former and which has a negative taper from bottom to top. The depth of the recesses (6) is such that circles geometrically inscribed inside the base of the recesses (6) have diameters smaller than the corresponding mean outside diameters less three times the standard deviation of the riser sleeves (1) to be used. The recesses (6) form ribs (11) from the moulding sand and the ribs (11) grip the outer surface of the sleeve (1).

  • Patent number: 4404968
Abstract: For simulating a natural erection, a pump and valve assembly to be used in combination with a prosthetic penile implant which includes bladder means which are implanted within the penis and a fluid containing reservoir which is implanted within the abdominal cavity. The pump and valve assembly is generally implanted within the scrotum. To that end, the pump and valve assembly includes a rotor and uni-directional valve means such that the fluid is able to flow from the reservoir to the bladders when the rotor is in a first position and from the bladders to the reservoir when the rotor is in a second position. To that end, the valve means precludes the fluid from flowing in the reverse direction once the fluid has passed to either the reservoir or the bladders, respectively. Moreover, pump means are utilized in order to pump additional fluid either into the bladders to obtain a fully erect penis or alternatively, to pump fluid out of the bladders and into the reservoir to obtain a flaccid penis.

  • Patent number: 4376441
Abstract: An applicator for applying hair treatment preparations to a person's hair and for rinsing the preparation from the hair. The applicator is a compact device which includes a remotely located heater/blower unit coupled to a hand-held applicator assembly. The applicator assembly includes a chamber for receipt of a viscous hair treatment preparation and a plurality of apertured projections which communicate with the chamber. A stream of heated air is provided into the chamber, to melt the preparation. The melted preparation flows from the chamber, through the apertures and onto the person's hair. The projections function as comb teeth to spread the preparation through the hair. The applicator assembly can be connected to a water tap, for water to flow through the apertures of the applicator assembly so the preparation may simultaneously be rinsed and combed from a person's hair. The preferred embodiment of the invention includes a removable scoop and capsule member.
