  • Patent number: 4936036
Abstract: An integral grip for the handle of a handgun frame is molded from a resilient, flexible, synthetic plastic material. The grip is of generally U-shaped configuration including a curved rear wall and two spaced opposed sidewall portions. The sidewall portions are biased inwardly from the rear wall portion to their outer edges and are also of tapered cross-section diminishing from the rear wall to the outer edges thereof. The material, its distribution and inward bias of the sidewall portions are such that when fitted onto the handle of the handgun frame, the grip will be in tensioned, clamping relation thereon. An undercut rib is disposed on the inner surface of each sidewall portion adjacent the outer edge thereof for interlocking with a recessed edge portion of the handle. Adjacent the lower end of its rear wall portion, the grip includes a boss with a bore therethrough. • Patent number: 4924831
Abstract: Capacitor charge ignition system includes a computer chip programmed to control ignition timing of the system. The system has a generator coil and primary and secondary windings of an ignition coil disposed on one leg portion of a ferromagnetic core. The generator coil is wound with respect to ground potential to provide positive pulses, one preceding and one following, in sequence, an intermediate pulse of negative polarity induced in the generator coil in response to rotation of permanent magnet poles past the one core leg. The positive pulses are supplied to a microprocessor which is programmed to determine the elapsed time between the pair of positive pulses and to provide an output signal which is a multiple function of the elapsed time. A capacitor is charged by the intermediate pulse so that its grounded side is changed to a positive polarity voltage which is connected in circuit with the primary winding of the ignition coil and with the anode/cathode path of a silicon controlled rectifier (SCR).

  • Patent number: 4917600
Abstract: Reciprocal furnace for heating metallic parts to a predetermined temperature has a horizontally reciprocal hearth. The hearth includes a multi-layer firebrick base on which is carried a ceramic fixture adapted to receive the metal parts to be heated in the furnace. The ceramic fixture has a plurality of parallel slots which are longitudinally spaced apart in a direction corresponding to the reciprocal movement of the hearth. The hearth is supported at its underside by a reciprocal drive mechanism and is moved incrementally by a drive motor to advance each slot of the fixture in sequence to a predetermined position at which a part is inserted therein by the reciprocal feed mechanism. After all the slots have been sequentially loaded, the hearth is retracted by the reciprocal drive mechanism to its initial position at which the part, first inserted, is removed and another part is inserted in the same slot. The loading and unloading cycle is repeated continuously.

  • Patent number: 4907737
Abstract: Electronic control system for a gas-fired/hot air furnace includes a primary control unit which controls the flow of fuel to the furnace. The furnace has heating and cooling space thermostats and a comfort fan to supply heated or cooled air to the space being monitored by the thermostats and an induced draft blower which supplies combustion air into the furnace for heating. A first switch and associated relay drive selectively energizes the comfort fan for low speed heating operation and a second relay switch and associated relay drive selectively energizes the comfort fan for high speed cooling operation. Actuation of the heating thermostat energizes a third switch and associated relay drive which energizes the induced draft blower. A high temperature thermostat located to sense excessive furnace temperatures is also connected to actuate the third relay to energize the induced draft blower in an excessive temperature condition.

  • Patent number: 4856984
Abstract: Automatic reset for an unattended gas furnace has an induced draft blower motor energized by an electrical power source and with a first, normally "open", relay switch in circuit to control the operation of the blower motor. A burner control circuit, energized by a transformer coupled portion of the power source, has a room thermostatic switch, a second, normally "open", relay switch in series with the thermostatic switch and an air-flow switch operated by airflow in the furnace to connect the control circuit to the second power source when the blower is "on" and the thermostat is "closed", calling for heat. The second switch is connected to the control electrode of an electronic switching element to energize selectively a relay controller which, when energized, closes both the first and second relay switches to energize the blower motor and burner control circuit.

  • Patent number: 4819116
Abstract: A fault indicator light control circuit for a regulator controlled alternator/battery charging system has a first transistor connected with a light bulb in its conductive path to be turned "ON" when the transistor is conducting. Conduction of the transistor is controlled by a plurality of conductive paths connected to the base of the transistor and each path includes a Zener diode having a breakdown voltage substantially above the rated voltage of the battery. The conductive paths are connected to detect any one of a plurality of circuit operating defects, including a short in the silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) of a solid state regulator, an open SCR and a regulator failure. A capacitor is connected in the circuit to be charged by an alternator voltage having a polarity opposite that which is used to charge the battery.
