  • Patent number: 7690697
Abstract: A thread form is shown which is used to make a threaded pipe connection capable of being screwed together and subsequently unscrewed. A pin member is provided having external threads with stab flanks and load flanks and flat crests and roots for mating with the mating internal threads of a box member to make up a pipe connection. One of the stab or load flanks is made up of two facets and three radii. The other selected flank is made up of three facets and four radii, giving it irregular features forming a complex geometric profiles. The thread form can be used to form a premium threaded connection which is used with such tubulars as casing and tubing for oil, gas, water and waste disposal wells.

  • Patent number: 7691346
Abstract: A method is shown for raising the pH of a cyanide leach solution of the type used in a heap leaching mining operation. Lime slurry is mixed with a side stream of barren cyanide solution in a reactor vessel in order to remove carbonate hardness, to regenerate the hydroxide alkalinity and to raise the pH of the resulting recausticized leach solution. A portion of the calcium carbonate precipitate formed in the reactor vessel is retained in order to encourage further crystal growth. Overflow from the reactor vessel passes through one or more cyclone separation stages in order to remove particulate solids. A cyclone overflow stream is directed back to the process to upwardly adjust the pH of the bulk of the barren cyanide solution. A cyclone underflow stream is directed back to the reactor vessel to provide seed crystal nuclei for precipitate growth.

  • Patent number: 7691190
Abstract: A method is shown for retarding the reactivity of quicklime. The quicklime is contacted with an aqueous solution of a boron-containing compound after being calcined. The boron-containing solution can be sprayed on the quicklime as it moves past on a conveyor belt. The retarded quicklime can be used for various industrial purposes and is especially useful as a reactant in a glass making operation.

  • Patent number: 7665427
Abstract: An improved shell-and-tube steam instantaneous heat exchange system of a closely coupled feedback design which overheats water in the heat exchanger portion of the system and then blends the water, as needed, with proportional amounts of cold water to achieve the correct outlet temperature for a wide range of flow rates. The system uses at least two primary heat exchangers to provide redundancy in the case of failure of a major component of the system. Steam flow through the heat exchangers is controlled by the use of steam traps, rather than using a thermostatically controlled valve to vary the supply of steam. To obtain precise temperature control during varying water volume use, water is directed from the blended outlet of a first water tempering valve into the hot inlet port of a second water tempering valve.

  • Patent number: 7624474
Abstract: A portable extractor apparatus is shown which includes a wheel mounted base having a solution tank for dispensing and recovering cleaning solution. A cleaning head communicates with the solution tank and contacts the surface to the cleaned for dispensing and recovering cleaning solution. A fluid pump circulates cleaning solution in a path between the solution tank and the cleaning head. A vacuum motor provides a vacuum source for the cleaning head for suctioning the surface being cleaned. The solution tank has mounted thereon both an initial multi-component filter assembly which initially filters incoming solution being circulated to the solution tank and a distinct final filter component which removes smaller particles from the solution being re-circulated from the tank. The solution tank bottom wall has a profile which improves the efficiency of the final filter component.

  • Patent number: 7616119
Abstract: A system is shown for locating hidden pipelines, particularly underground pipe used in a plastic pipeline such as for municipal water and sewer applications. An RFID tag is associated with the pipeline prior to installation of the pipeline into the ground. This can be done by associating the RFID tag with a sealing gasket which is subsequently installed at a sealing joint location of the pipeline. The tag can also be associated with the pipeline itself by installing the tag on a section of pipe. The location of the subsequently buried pipeline can be determined by interrogating the RFID tag with a suitable reader, the reader being located at an above ground location.

  • Patent number: 7604103
Abstract: A tool storage bag is provided for storing tools and accessories at a work site. The tool storage bag is formed with soft sides and has external expandible pockets to accept a variety of tools and accessories. In one version, the bag has an A-frame opening which presents an unobstructed opening in the open position for receiving larger tools such as a circular saw. In another version, the tool bag has a rectangular opening which is spanned by a rigid handle with end portions which are attached to selected opposing sidewalls of the bag. The rigid handle accommodates heavier loads and adds increased stability to the bag construction.

  • Patent number: 7571764
Abstract: A well cover arrangement is shown for covering the exposed opening of a well where the well has a submersible pump supported on a collared well string which is suspended downwardly in the well. The cover arrangement includes both a U-plate with a U-shaped opening therein and a door element which fits within the U-plate opening. Once the door element is properly positioned on the U-plate, cooperating locking elements maintain its proper position. The ultimate weight of the well tubing string further secures the door element as the collar in the well string contacts a portion of the door element, making removal of the door element only possible by first lifting the well string.
