Abstract: An improved keyboard system and apparatus using keys spaced and sized to correspond to human hands provides rapid data entry applicable to all electronic devices. Each key combination provides a binary sequence, and each sequence is associated with an alphabetic, numeric or control character using standard ASCII coding. The preferred eight key embodiment is adapted to the back of a hand-held electronic device whereby data is readily input by a user holding the device with both hands.

Abstract: A fastener apparatus includes a frusto-hemispherical head portion having a flat top surface, a curved outer surface, a base portion, and a peripheral edge, with the flat top surface bearing a tool fitting. A downwardly-depending lip portion extends from the head peripheral edge and defines an annular recess in the base, the annular recess having a flat upper surface. Abstract: A consumable guide tube includes a thin first elongated strip, a second elongated strip and a plurality of insulators. The thin first elongated strip has a front face having at least one longitudinal channel and a back face. The second elongated strip has a front face configured to be coupled to the front face of the first elongated strip and a back face. The plurality of insulator modules are deposited on the back faces of the thin first elongated strip and the second elongated strip. Preferably, the thin first elongated strip is a low carbon cold-rolled steel strip, and the second elongated strip is a low carbon hot-rolled steel strip. The guide tube is also configured to include two or more longitudinal channels.
Abstract: New polymorphic advantages by combining OO elements of the Java™ and C++ languages with built-in support for regular expressions (in terms of class definitions, inheritance, member functions) and by applying the principle of virtual class membership to production rules are presented. Virtual member production rules are incorporated into a ‘V-table’ concept. Instantiated production rules are type-compatible embodiments of regular expressions. Polymorphic regular expressions are leveraged through the ‘document design pattern’.

Abstract: A modular welding system for performing quick, easy and high quality welds. The modular welding system comprises a basic component system and a modular fixture component system. The basic component system provides the basic components which are needed to perform a quality weld efficiently. The modular fixture component system interfaces with the basic component system and provides a particular welding fixture assembly that performs a particular type of weld. More particularly, a stiffener type modular fixture component system and a butt/tee type modular fixture system are described. However, any other particular fixture type system may be integrated with the basic component system of the present invention.
Abstract: A structural clip includes two connecting legs extending from a resilient spring means with a securing loop at the end of each leg. The angles defined by the legs and by each leg and the spring means when the securing loops are connected to a bottom support member secure that member and a contacting top support member in any spatial relationship one to the other without auxiliary tools. An embodiment useful over a range of support member diameters for perpendicular or parallel reinforcement member alignment, and a method for using the clip also are disclosed.
Abstract: A hand-held, ultra-sensitive gas chromatograph which provides real time detection and analysis of chemical compounds or impurities is disclosed. The detection sensitivity ranges from parts per trillion to parts per million with an average retention time ranging from thirty to forty-five seconds. Optimum calculated effective plate number is 55,000, with a response time on the order of two minutes. The self-contained apparatus operates on twenty-four watts, weighs twelve pounds, and measures 8?×6?×13.
Abstract: A plastic rift connector fitting comprises an annular housing, water line fitting, and sleeve components for pressurized water systems. The housing has a plurality of locking mechanisms to quickly lock and release the water line fitting. A flange and O-ring on the water line fitting stabilize the water line fitting connection to the housing for pressures up to 250 psi. The sleeve encloses the housing/fitting connection to prevent accidental release of water line fitting.

Abstract: A portable, handheld, automatic protection level interpreting cathodic protection meter for testing the level of protection being afforded to metallic structures protected by either sacrificial anode or impressed current cathodic protection systems, or both. The meter is suitable over a variety of environments including salt water, freshwater, and soil. The operator can select both the type of metal to be tested as well as the type of reference electrode that is being used. The meter automatically calibrates data interpretation of the level of protection based on the operator's selections and eliminates any voltage drop error existing between a reference electrode and the structure being protected.

Abstract: An automatic fishing device is comprised of a fishing rod support for supporting a fishing rod. A spring loaded fishing line puller is movably attached to the support and arranged to engage a portion of the line along the fishing rod. An actuating arm hinged to a fixed position on the support is attached to a forward end of the fishing rod. A latch connected to the actuating arm is arranged to secure the puller in a cocked position under spring loading. When the fishing line is pulled by a fish, the forward end of the fishing rod is tilted down to tilt the actuating arm downward. The latch is moved by the actuating arm to disengage from the line puller, which is quickly moved by a spring away from the fishing rod to momentarily retract the fishing line and set the fish hook in the fish.
Abstract: Aerodynamic wing to propel a broad range of transport means, principally sail craft. The wing provides a single layer kite structure capable of flying without surface discontinuity, bridles, or rigid or semi-rigid structure. All stresses within the wing are converted into pure tension and transferred through the wing surface outward to attachment lines. The wing shape defines a large diameter self-supporting rolled over leading edge of an airfoil and the wing profile approaching the trailing edge exhibits increasing convexity. The wing is useful to propel, or supplement propulsion to, transportation means.
