Abstract: An electrical switching apparatus includes a plurality of poles each having a Rogowski coil and a conductor passing through an opening thereof, and a processor circuit including a sensor circuit including a plurality of inputs each electrically interconnected with an output of the Rogowski coil of a corresponding pole. The sensor circuit further includes a number of outputs having values each corresponding to current flowing through the conductor, a memory including for each corresponding pole an offset value and a gain correction factor for the sensor circuit, and a gain correction factor for the Rogowski coil, a number of routines, and a processor cooperating with the sensor circuit and the routines to provide for each pole a corrected current value as a function of a corresponding one of the values, the sensor circuit offset value and gain correction factor, and the Rogowski coil gain correction factor.

Abstract: An antenna switching method of a wireless communication system capable of efficiently transmitting various signals from a plurality of transmitting antennas to a receiving unit is provided. The method includes a received signal intensity measuring step of operating an antenna switch (23) and obtaining received signal intensities of all the transmitting antennas (24, 25), a step of comparing the obtained received signal intensities of all the transmitting antennas and determining a transmitting antenna wherein the received signal intensity is the highest, a step of operating the antenna switch so that the transmitting antenna wherein the received signal intensity is the highest is connected to a transmitting circuit 22 and fixing the transmitting antenna, and a step of transmitting signals thereafter from the transmitting circuit via the fixed transmitting antenna.
Abstract: The present invention provides a new hand-operated system for actuating acceleration and brake pedals in a vehicle. The system comprises main body adapted to be fixedly attached to the vehicle in the vicinity of the driver's hands, a handle connected to the main body wherein the handle is adapted to be moved forwardly and backwardly in order to operate the vehicle; two levers pivotally connected to the main body wherein the levers are engaged with the acceleration and brake pedals through connecting rods; and a cable connecting the lever that actuate the acceleration pedal.
Abstract: An auction system and method, which identifies at least one lot to be auctioned, having a plurality of units within the lot and associated auction parameters; transmits a remaining quantity of units within the lot from a central server to a plurality of remote locations; receives bid identifications for remaining units within the lot at the contemporaneous offering price from the plurality of remote locations; and decrements the offering price over time. The decrement may be adaptive to a bid activity pattern, and the bid activity pattern may be stored in a database. A local server may be provided to communicate between the central server and remote locations while changing the format of the information communicated. The packets preferably include compressed information, and preferably include quantity remaining information for a plurality of auction lots.
Abstract: A crank assembly for a hose reel is provided. The crank includes an axle rod and a triangular frame assembly. The axle rod extends perpendicular to the triangular frame assembly. The axle rod extends from the medial portion of on of the three tubular members. In this configuration, and when the crank is in use, force is distributed to opposing sides of the axle rod. Further, the triangular shape provides a support for a flat plate upon which an indicia may be displayed.
Abstract: A toe massage device is constructed from a rotating body while being supported on a base by a supporting shaft; a rotation drive device for rotating the rotating body in the normal and reverse directions; and toe fixation means provided on the rotating body and fixing toes of a subject. The toes are fixed on the rotating body by the toe fixation means and the rotating body is rotated in the normal and reverse directions. When the rotating body is rotated in the normal direction, the toes are pulled forward and downward. That is, the toes are pulled in the direction in which they are bent toward the sole. When the rotating body is rotated in the reverse direction, the toes are bent upward while being caused to move backward.
Abstract: A liquid dispensing device includes a container removably mounted to a tray such that an orifice in the base of the container is below a fill line of the tray. A flat-shaped cap that includes an opening is removably attached to the orifice. A cap adjustment member forces the cap into a concave shape when the container is removably mounted to the tray. If the cap is in the flat shape, surface tension of the liquid in the container prevents the container from dispensing liquid. However, forcing the cap into the concave shape disrupts the surface tension of the liquid and allows the container to dispense the liquid if the liquid is not already above a fill line. These features allow the orifice to be wide enough for cleaning while the cap is narrow enough for operation without the cap causing surface tension that hinders operation.
Abstract: A surgical blade device similar to a disposable scalpel wherein the blade assembly is easily replaceable is provided. The surgical blade device allows the user to replace a blade assembly during surgery or, after sterilization of the handle and replacement of the blade assembly, reuse the surgical blade device. The surgical blade device disclosed herein further provides for an inexpensive blade assembly replacement device which is simple to operate. That is, the blade replacement device has a limited number of components.

Abstract: A demolding device (10) for demolding a work piece from a mold comprises a hold-down element (18) that is disposed between the mold pieces in the closed state of the mold and extends up to or into a cavity provided for producing the work piece. A control sleeve (11) is connected to the hold-down element (18) and is coupled with one of the mold parts in a form-fitting manner via a guide device. The piston (11) is displaceable along a first path (w1) along the stroke direction limited by the guide device and is mounted in the guide device in a pivotable fashion. Upon a pivot motion, the end of the piston (11) facing the cavity moves away from the cavity. A first control piece (16) is connected to the other mold piece, the control piece blocking a pivoting of the piston (11) and/or the hold-down element (18) during the first path (w1).
Abstract: A method of operating a progressive die wherein the progressive die acts on a work piece having an elongated body with a blank at one end. The work piece is supported by a bandolier which is also formed in the progressive die. The progressive die acts on each blank.

Abstract: System and method for monitoring and controlling, defibrillation and pacing which allows a victim of a cardiac rhythm abnormality immediate access to a medical professional at a central station, who will remotely monitor, diagnose and treat the victim at one of a plurality of remote sites in accordance with the following steps: (1) providing a plurality of contact electrodes for a victim at a remote site for the receipt of ECG signals and for the application of electrical pulses to the victim; (2) transmitting the signals from the remote site to a central station and displaying them for review by the medical professional; (3) the medical professional selecting from a menu of defibrillation and pacing pulses, if the application thereof is appropriate; (4) transmitting the selection results to the remote site; and (5) receiving the selection results at the remote site and applying the selected pulses to the victim.
Abstract: The present invention relates to certain tricyclic derivatives which are capable of inhibiting histone deacetylases. The compounds of this invention are therefore useful in treating diseases associated with abnormal histone deacetylase activities. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising these compounds, methods of treating diseases utilizing pharmaceutical compositions comprising these compounds, and methods of preparing these compounds are also disclosed.

Abstract: A pet watering device includes a bowl having a base with an upwardly extending sidewall attached to the base. A ramp is disposed within the bowl and extends from the bowl sidewall to the base. The ramp includes an aperture for dispensing water. A pump is disposed within the bowl. A water reservoir is disposed between the pump and the ramp aperture for storing water removed by the pump from the bowl. Water stored in the reservoir overflows the reservoir onto the ramp through the ramp aperture for return of water to the bowl.
