    Abstract: A metal forming method is used for manufacturing vehicle wheels. The invention comprises manufacturing of a wheel block comprising a central part and initially formed rim; drawing of the rim by hot rolling to obtain a wheel profile that approximates a finished wheel, and a final wheel treatment process. The rolling is conducted from either side of the wheel block, which may comprise any granular microstructure. Rolling temperature-strain rate conditions correspond to the microstructure. For a coarse-grain microstructure, the rim includes a shoulder with a thickness greater than that of the finished wheel, and thickness differences transform the microstructure into a recrystallized and/or polygonized microstructure. For a fine-grain microstructure, the rim includes a shoulder or flange with a thickness close to a thickness of a finished wheel. For mixed microstructures, the rim includes a shoulder and has a thickness greater or equal to a finished wheel.

    Abstract: A circuit for loading the rectified AC voltage bus in a housekeeping power supply for an electronically controlled load is provided for avoiding large increases in the rectified AC bus voltage upon disconnecting the load. The load circuit includes a current sink, a relatively small energy storage capacitance, and a negative feedback circuit. The current sink includes a resistance coupled to the rectified AC voltage bus for sinking current whenever the semiconductor switch is on. When the semiconductor switch is off, the small capacitance discharges through the resistive voltage divider. When the voltage across the small capacitance decreases to a threshold mean AC rectified voltage bus value, then the negative feedback circuit provides sufficient current to turn the semiconductor switch back on and thus provide approximately the threshold mean AC rectified voltage bus value.

    Abstract: A mold for molding a core for use in casting hollow parts includes, a lower mold portion and an upper mold portion defining therein a cavity corresponding to the outer surface of the core. After introduction of a ceramic slurry mixture into the mold the upper mold portion is removable, to expose a first side of the core and a protective flash formed in the cutout. Desirably, a heat shield is positioned over the protective flash and the exposed portion of the parting line of the lower mold portion so that the lower mold portion is not exposed directly to a flame during a preliminary firing to impart sufficient strength to the ceramic core so that the ceramic core may be handled.

The coding and decoding technique achieves fundamental suppression and second harmonic compression for a given Golay code pair X and Y.
