  • Patent number: 7390342
Abstract: A hollow filter element for removing material that is entrained in a gas stream. The filter element comprises a wall of a filtration medium which defines a hollow space so that a gas stream can flow from the space through the wall in order to be filtered. The wall comprises a filtration layer, and a drainage layer located outside the filtration layer in which liquid separated from the gas stream can collect. The filter element further comprises first and second end caps at opposite ends of the space, the first end cap including an inlet for a gas stream to be supplied to the space. The drainage layer extends from the wall over at least a part of the external surface of second end cap, over the face thereof which faces away from the first end cap.

  • Patent number: 7360658
Abstract: A filter assembly includes housing enclosing a replaceable filter element. A support core is provided in the housing, and includes an extension and locking assembly. The element includes a ring of filtration media with a pair of end caps. The first end cap includes a central opening to receive the support core. The extension and locking assembly prevents the cover of the housing from being attached to the housing body without a proper filter element installed. The extension and locking assembly includes a bypass member and a locking member, which are in locking engagement when an element is absent in the housing. The second end cap includes internal protrusions which engage the locking member when the filter element is installed to disengage the bypass member from the support core, and allow the element to be inserted and the cover to be installed.

  • Patent number: 7306652
Abstract: Biogas released from landfills and sewage treatment plants is freed of siloxane contaminants by passing the biogas through a bed containing activated alumina, which absorbs the siloxanes. When the activated alumina becomes saturated with siloxanes, the absorption capability of the activated alumina can be recovered by passing a regeneration gas through the bed of activated alumina. A system containing two or more beds of activated alumina can use one bed to remove siloxanes from biogas while one or more of the other beds are being regenerated.
