  • Patent number: 7971087
Abstract: A variable clock control information generator receives graphics engine activity data relating to the operating level of a graphics engine, and memory activity data relating to an activity level of memory. In response, the variable clock control information generator produces graphics engine clock control information and memory clock control information with respect to each other, such that a relative difference between the graphics engine activity data and the memory activity data is within balance threshold data. Accordingly, the variable clock control information generator adapts to the varying levels of graphics engine activity and memory activity and adjusts the frequency of the graphics engine clock signal and the frequency of the memory clock signal to achieve a balanced relative activity level.

  • Patent number: 7650552
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting an error compares a hardwired reference value to a corresponding predetermined value and generates an error indication in response to a change in the predetermined value. In one embodiment, the predetermined value is set to be the same as the hardwired reference value and in response to an electrostatic discharge event or any other suitable cause of error, the predetermined value changes so that a comparison indicates that an error has occurred. An error indication is then generated which may be, for example, an interrupt to recovery logic that generates recovery control information to reset a functional block that was corrupted or to perform in an entire chip reset if desired.

  • Patent number: 5411156
Abstract: A content immobilizer includes an immobilizing medium, such as cotton, and a plastic integrally formed pull member, operatively coupled through the immobilizing medium, wherein the pull member has a flexible portion adapted to resiliently extend above an upper rim surface of the mouth of a bottle after removal of the closure. The pull member may also laterally compress and expand to frictionally engage with an interior wall surface of the bottle to secure the pull member in a predetermined position. A method for forming the content immobilizer includes inserting the pull member through the immobilizing medium, inserting the content immobilizer into the bottle such that at least a portion of the pull member extends out through the mouth of the bottle, and applying a closure, such as a tamper evident seal, a cap and/or both, over the mouth such that the portion of the pull member resiliently couples to a bottom surface of the closure.

  • Patent number: 5390339
Abstract: A radio communication system selects a serving transceiver for a remote unit by generating and using a center of mass location estimation. The radio communication system collects uplink and downlink signal characteristics, including impaired signals caused by co-channel interference, from a set of transceivers, including those adjacent to and non-adjacent to the candidate transceiver and remote unit, to aid in the estimation of the remote unit's location within the radio communication system. Using the uplink and downlink signal characteristics, the radio communication system determines weighted coordinates related to predetermined coordinates and the signal characteristics which are used to produce a first and second center of mass coordinate estimation. The radio communication system then selects the serving transceiver to be the transceiver whose predetermined coordinates are closest to the first and second center of mass coordinate estimation.
