  • Patent number: 4680974
Abstract: The invention relates to a mass flow meter operable on the Coriolis principle having two rectilinear juxtaposed parallel arranged measuring tubes mechanically interconnected at their ends. An oscillator between the tubes produces opposite oscillatory movement of the tubes with a harmonic oscillation superimposed on the fundamental oscillation. Sensors between the tubes on opposite sides of the oscillator sense relative movement between the tubes and generate signals corresponding thereto. A circuit responsive to these signals determines resonant frequencies of the fundamental and harmonic oscillations and derives therefrom a correcting value which gives effect to axial stresses in the measuring tubes to determine a corrected mass flow.

  • Patent number: 4681533
Abstract: In a vapor burner for liquid fuel there is an electrically heatable gasifying chamber (1), a passage system (K) concentric therewith for supplying air of combustion, and a burner tube (26) which surrounds a combustion chamber (25) and is bounded at the rear by an annular closure wall (22). The gasifying chamber (1) is formed substantially by a central gasifying tube (2). Guide means (19) serve to produce an external annular eddy (31) of combustion gases that extends along the inside (33) of the burner tube (26) rearwardly at least over a section disposed axially in front of the mouth (23) of the passage system (K). An ionisation measuring electrode (35) placed in the backward flow permits the flame to be accurately detected independently of the flame front which changes with a change in the burner output. When the burner tube (26) glows, there is automatic re-ignition if the flame blows off.

  • Patent number: 4634481
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of making for a vapor burner a tubular fuel preparing chamber which opens into a combustion chamber and is heatable to a relatively high temperature. The fuel preparing chamber is cooperable with an air supply system which supplies combustion air and is formed with ceramic tubes which are heatable to a glow temperature for effecting ignition and effecting a cleansing temperature wherein deposits on the wall of the chamber are burned to ash. The fuel preparing chamber includes a plurality of ceramic parts including first and second smaller and larger diameter tube parts with the first tube part being pushed into the inlet section of the second tube part. The chamber also includes a ceramic closure part at the outlet end of the second tube with which it has a close fit. The method involves assembling the ceramic parts and unifying them by said sintering.
