Abstract: A hammer equipped with a mallet attachment and a measuring scale. The mallet attachment includes a surface cap for covering the striking surface of the hammer such that the hammer is visible as a mallet which provides a resilient surface. A surface cap holder stores the surface cap when using the hammer. The measuring scale is located on a grip which surrounds a hammer shank. The hammer functions as both a hammer and a mallet.

Abstract: An all natural filter assembly without toxic materials for use in an air filtration unit is provided. The filter assembly for use in an air filtration unit includes a support frame and a disposable grease filter disposed across said support frame. The disposable grease filter is formed of wool fiber coated with a bonding agent comprising a natural soy, whey and/or linseed solution. Also provided is a disposable grease filter blanket, which includes a wool fiber woven, non-woven or needle punched blanket coated with a bonding agent of a natural soy, whey and/or linseed solution. The filter blanket can be coated with approximately 0.3 grams to 2.0 grams of bonding agent per square meter of wool fiber.
Abstract: A method and recyclable magnetic adsorbent are provided for removing contaminants from a fluid stream that has by-products. The method includes providing an adsorbent material that has incorporated at least one ferromagnetic material. Contacting the ferromagnetic adsorbent material to at least a portion of contaminated stream to adsorb the contaminant. The contaminated adsorbent is then separated from the by-products using a magnetic separation process. The adsorbent is recovered from the solid by-products and reusable in the present method.
Abstract: Adsorbents for removing anions of a heavy metals and methods for using same are provided. Metal removing adsorbents comprise a porous material in which at least one oxygen-containing compound of iron, copper, aluminum, titanium, and/or zirconium is incorporated. The oxygen-containing compound may be incorporated into the porous media by impregnation or dispersion of a suitable precursor of such a compound. The precursor may be further treated to yield the oxygen-containing compound. Such adsorbents are particularly useful for removing arsenic and/or selenium from the environment and may be used in treating drinking water sources.
Abstract: A hanger for drills comprises a plastic part with a tag face, wherein a hole for the penetration of a hanger hook is disposed in the upper area of the tag face, and wherein one or several holding devices enveloping the drill to be held at least partially are disposed at a distance from one another on the tag face. For the purpose of securely holding drills of various shapes, it is provided that at least one holding part is elastically deformed to envelop the drill to be held.
Abstract: The invention provides a system to physically dispense an item on-site from a dispenser whereby the item to be dispensed is selected by the system based on user-specific or item-specific information. In an embodiment, the system selects the dispensed item based on both user-specific and item-specific information. In another embodiment the invention comprises a system that activates gaming features in a gaming device based on user-specific information.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method using the human ErbB3 receptor, p85-sErbB3, as a negative regulator of heregulin-stimulated ErbB2, ErbB3, and ErbB4 activation. The present invention also discloses a system and method of p85-sErbB3 binding to heregulin with an affinity comparable to that of full-length ErbB3, and competitively inhibiting high affinity heregulin binding to ErbB2/3 heterodimers on the cell surface of breast carcinoma cells. The present invention also uses p85-sErbB3 to inhibit heregulin-induced phosphorylation of ErbB2, ErbB3, and ErbB4 in cells and uses p85-sErbB3 as a negative regulator of heregulin-stimulated signal transduction and as a block for cell growth. The present invention is also directed to nucleic acids and expression vectors encoding p85-sErbB3, host cells harboring such expression vectors, and methods of preparing the protein.
Abstract: The inventive system comprises a housing for receiving a flow of fluid. The invention for the first time uses a modular assembly of UV lamps. The modular assembly comprises at least two UV sources substantially parallel to each other and transverse to said flow. In an embodiment, one of the UV sources is disposed in a plane below all such other lamps and adapted to be run at a power higher than that of all such other lamps. The inventive arrangement is combined with a baffle arrangement wherein the baffles are preferably positioned in such a way to direct the fluid flow into the treatment area.

Abstract: A case for holding elongate objects, in particular, a case for holding drills or other elongate tools, comprising a housing shell having a lid hinged to the rear part thereof via a horizontal pivoting axis, wherein the elongate objects are held in one holding part or in a plurality of holding parts pivotably mounted in the housing shell, and wherein when the case is closed, the said elongate objects fill a holding space in the housing shell which holding space is limited in forward direction by a length stop disposed in the housing shell and combining with at least one stop rib to form the length stop for the elongate objects, wherein the length stop forms a holding space for additional objects to be kept therein.
Abstract: The invention comprises a retractable cover system comprising: a flexible cover. A plurality of supporting bows support the cover A semi-rigid member having first and second ends is secured to the cover section. The semi-rigid member is capable of flexing laterally outward if the system is retracted. This outward action allows the cover or cover sections to consistently fold in the same way and prevents the cover or cover sections from getting caught in the load or in the cover system componentry. The invention also comprises a segmented tube means secured to the bottom portion of the cover between the bows.

Abstract: An adjustable putter 10 having a shaft (12) and a grip assembly (16) that is connected to the butt end of shaft (12). A hosel assembly (20) is connected to the tip end (18) of shaft (12) and a head assembly (22) is connected to the hosel assembly. The grip assembly is adjustable on shaft (12) to adjust the length of the putter. A collet (106) is angularly moveable in a housing (94) to adjust the lie and to determine the right-hand/left-hand sense of the putter. The loft is adjusted by substituting different collets (106) with passageways (108) having varying orientations in collet (106). The weight of the putter is adjusted by substituting various weights (156, 158) in the head assembly.
