  • Patent number: 6112936
Abstract: An envelope made of tubular net material is stretched around a glove dispensing box or the like and closed on each end. Positioned immediately adjacent an opening in the dispensing box is a sphincter closure in the net material. The sphincter closure is created by cutting a hole in the net material and weaving an elastic band in a circle around the hole. Closure of the netting on either end of the dispensing box is accomplished by stitching, safety pins, or other such closures. It is preferable that one end of the envelope be permanently closed with stitching or a tied cord or the like. It is also preferable that the second end be releasably closed with any of a number of well-known bag or netting closure devices.

  • Patent number: 6081941
Abstract: A portable toilet seat which may be removably mounted to a receiver mount towing hitch. The portable toilet seat includes two arcuate seat members each having a first end and a second end. The first end of each is affixed to the outside face of each of two rectangular shaft components which are attached to one another by means of a hinge. The hinge allows the arcuate seat members to fold such that the arcuate seat members rest side by side for easy storage and transport. The present invention additionally provides a portable toilet seat which may be removably mounted to a receiver mount towing hitch, including two arcuate seat members and a shaft. The seat members each have a first end and a second end which are affixed to opposing sides of the rectangular shaft.

  • Patent number: 6076268
Abstract: An apparatus and method for orienting directional tools within a bore hole by recognizing and compensating for field biases brought about by ferromagnetic anamolies surrounding the bore hole, ferromagnetic casing strings and electrical/electronic tool components. The present invention includes the steps of measuring the magnetic field within a bore hole before casing strings are put in place and again measuring the magnetic field after such casings are in place. The ferromagnetic formation anamolies are detected in the first step of measuring the field prior to casing placement and further bias characteristics are determined in the second magnetic field measurement step after the casings are placed. Alternately, a conventional gyroscopic survey can be carried out to establish a bias in an already cased bore hole.

  • Patent number: 6065219
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for estimating the cross-sectional shape and orientation of an earth borehole and the motion of a tool therein. The method and apparatus involve measuring the distance from the tool to the borehole wall at a plurality of locations around the periphery of the tool and fitting those measured distances to a predetermined shape function using a nonlinear parameter estimation technique to minimize the error between the estimated shape of the borehole and the measured distances. The method and apparatus may be used to estimate elliptical and higher order borehole shapes. Additionally, the method and apparatus may be used while drilling the borehole.

  • Patent number: 6062309
Abstract: A mandrel-operated torque roller anchor for insertion into the casing of a well, which when set resists axial movement and prevents rotation of itself and the string above it in one direction, but permits such motion when rotated in the other direction. The anchor comprises a central mandrel and a slip cage. The slip cage has a number of elongated slots. A number of drag slips rest on the mandrel within the slip cage and provide limited outward movement, through the slots, to bear against the casing. Each drag slip has a surface with wickers to grip the casing and set the anchor, and an adjacent unwickered drag portion to bear against the casing to allow the mandrel to rotate relative to the slips and cage, but permit axial movement of the string. Slots running through the drag portion of the slip provide flow around the anchor. Biasing elements extend between the mandrel and an interior surface of each slip to force the drag portion of the corresponding slip against the casing when in an unset position.

  • Patent number: 6061921
Abstract: An apparatus for positioning a workpiece guiding fence relative to a rotary cutter projecting through the top surface of a work table, comprising a plurality of major components, primarily formed by aluminum extrusions, including a base element securable to the work table surface and having upstanding guiding ribs, an elongated hollow carriage slidably mounted on said ribs and defining a partially cylindrical elongated recess mounting an elongated lead screw. A fence is secured to one end of the carriage. A threaded segment is mounted on a force transmitting element which is moved laterally to engage the threaded segment with the lead screw by a pivoted camming lever having three positions. In the first position, the threaded segment is disengaged from the lead screw, permitting unrestricted longitudinal movement of the carriage relative to the base.

  • Patent number: 5809612
Abstract: A assemblage for mounting a caster wheel on a depending stationary post on a wheeled load carrier comprises a body element having a cylindrical chamber concentrically surrounding the support post. The body element has a bracket for mounting a caster wheel for rotation about a horizontal axis. A vertical stack of washers surround the support post and alternate ones of such washers are secured to the support post and rotatable within the cylindrical chamber while the remainder of such washers are co-rotatable with the body element about the axis of the support post. The cylindrical chamber is filled with a lubricating fluid to a sufficient depth to cover all abutting surfaces of said washers, thereby providing viscous fluid shearing resistance to shimmying movement of the caster wheel relative to the support post. To maintain the friction between the support post and body element independent of the amount of load, anti-friction thrust bearings are provided between the support post and the body element.

  • Patent number: 5772237
Abstract: A suspension system for the ground engaging powered and/or caster wheels of a power wheelchair utilizes three links, two of which are universally pivotally connected between the frame of the wheelchair and a wheel mounting transaxle housing or subframe so that the wheels can tilt relative to the frame of the wheelchair in a vertical plane. A third link is connected between the vehicle frame and the wheel mounting structure which can only pivot in a vertical plane, thus restraining the wheels from any lateral displacement relative to the vehicle frame. Fluid cylinders operable between the links and the vehicle frame provide cushioning of the frame and also, by subtraction of fluid from the fluid cylinders, can lower the entire frame of the wheelchair relative to the ground engaging wheels to permit the wheelchair and occupant to drive into the side door opening of a conventional van.
