  • Patent number: 5414960
Abstract: A pivoting and sliding device is provided which incorporates a unique cam and frictional locking assembly. Rotation of a cam in a sliding block, slidably mounted within a track, produces lateral expansion and normal biasing of the slide block to frictionally engage four sides of the slide block with respective opposing track surfaces. A vertical or horizontal window or door sash may be pivoted out of the plane of the frame about a pair of slide blocks rigidly locked to the frame.

  • Patent number: 5407342
Abstract: An apparatus for injection molding plastics material has an injection unit for delivering a plasticized melt through a nozzle, a press unit for urging a mold together at a predetermined pressure, a mold mounted in the press unit and a programmable controller operably connected to the injection unit and the press unit for automatically controlling the operation of the apparatus for repetitively producing uniform articles. The mold has a stationary mold section and a moveable mold section. The press unit is adapted for reciprocating the moveable mold section between an open position and a closed position. The stationary mold section has a plurality of ports at pre-selected points. Each port has a controllable gate for selectively opening and closing the ports for passing melt to a mold cavity until the melt fully occupies the mold cavity while controlling and minimizing melt lines formed when a flow of melt from one of the ports meets with a flow of melt from another of the ports.

  • Patent number: 5380354
Abstract: A process for recovering zinc and iron from zinc- and iron-containing sulphidic material, which also contains lead and silver, in which the sulphidic material is leached under oxidizing conditions in a two stage countercurrent pressure leach to produce a zinc-containing solution from which zinc can be recovered by conventional means such as electrowinning, followed by a reducing leach to produce a lead- and silver-bearing product containing substantially all of the lead and a substantial portion of the silver present in the zinc-containing sulphidic materials, and a high strength iron bearing solution having the iron in the ferrous state from which substantially pure, saleable or environmentally acceptable iron residue in the form of hematite which contains the majority of the soluble iron present in the zinc-containing sulphidic materials is produced.

  • Patent number: 5381258
Abstract: A laser projection system for projecting an image onto a surface comprises a laser projector operably connectable to a computer. The computer controls the operation of the system. The laser projector comprises a laser beam source for generating a laser light beam, a collimator comprising a focusing leans for focusing the laser light beam to a focal point, a collimating lens for collimating the laser light beam beyond the focal point and a wedge-shaped lens having an apertured interposed between the focusing lens and collimating lens. The aperture has a size for passing the laser light beam therethrough. Two scanners direct the light beam about a light path. A photo sensor receives light refracted by the wedge-shaped lens and generates a feedback signal. A plurality of target reflectors, each having a retroreflective material for retroreflecting light back to its source.
