  • Patent number: 6417775
Abstract: A method and system for monitoring relay status using a lighting control panel is disclosed. The lighting control panel is used, for example, to control lighting throughout a building. The method includes the steps of commanding at least one relay to an on or off position from the lighting control panel, monitoring the status of the at least one relay from the lighting control panel, and setting the state of an indicator on the lighting control panel to show relay OFF, relay ON, or relay failed based on a monitored relay status.

  • Patent number: 6316932
Abstract: An A-base utility meter cover assembly is described. The meter cover assembly is fabricated of a thermoplastic injection molding material, such as polycarbonate, and includes a base cover covered by a terminal cover. In one embodiment, the base cover includes a terminal block cavity for receiving a utility meter terminal block, and two locking tabs and a snap portion which engage openings through the terminal cover when the base cover and terminal cover are in an assembled configuration. In the assembled configuration, a dam and deflectors on the terminal cover are aligned with ribs on the base to form a continuous barrier against water flow into the terminal block cavity. The configuration of the locking tabs and snap portion also protect against tampering with meter electronics by preventing removal of the terminal cover.

  • Patent number: 5990595
Abstract: Rotors and methods of assembling such rotors for electric motors are described. In one embodiment, the rotor includes a substantially cylindrical core having substantially planar first and second end surfaces and a substantially cylindrical body portion. The rotor core body portion has first, second and third body sections. The first body section has an outer diameter less than an outer diameter of the second body section, and the third body section has an outer diameter approximately about equal to the outer diameter of the first body section. The first and third body sections sometimes are referred to as end sections or core extensions. A plurality of radially arranged rotor bar slots extend through the body portion, and a plurality of rotor bars are cast in the rotor bar slots. The rotor bar slots in the end sections have a first geometric cross-sectional shape and the rotor bar slots in the second body section have a second geometric cross-sectional shape.
