  • Patent number: 7305046
Abstract: An I/Q modulator used for processing an I/Q signal to obtain a predistorted output signal. The I/Q signal has an I component and a Q component, and comprises a predistorter for predistorting, with a predistortion signal, a carrier signal, which comprises a first subcomponent and a second subcomponent that is substantially orthogonal to the first subcomponent, to obtain first and second predistorted subcomponents of the carrier signal. The predistortion signal depends on the I and Q components. A first multiplier multiples the I component by the first predistorted subcomponent to obtain a multiplied I component. A second multiplier multiples the Q component by the second predistorted subcomponent to obtain a multiplied Q component. An adder adds the multiplied I component and the negative multiplied Q component to obtain the predistorted output signal. Thus, a simplification of the I/Q modulator and a reduction in the number of necessary multipliers is achieved.

  • Patent number: 7283197
Abstract: A device for synchronizing an audio signal with a film comprising frames having imprinted time codes. A detector detects the imprinted time code for the sequence of frames to obtain a detected sequence of time codes. A time code generator generates a sequence of synthesis time codes based on an initial value. A decoder decodes a time code of the detected sequence of time codes obtain the initial value. A comparator compares a detected time code and a corresponding synthesis time code and, when a phase deviation is found to be above a deviation threshold value, a time code manipulator manipulates the synthesis time code for this frame in so far that it is changed with regard to its temporal length. An audio processor provides the samples of the audio signal associated with this frame in a time-controlled way in response to a detection of the synthesis time code for a frame.

  • Patent number: 5601479
Abstract: A method and apparatus for decontaminating structures which utilizes abrasive blasting in conjunction with a reverse air flow to remove contaminants from a structure. The apparatus comprises an abrasive blasting device for projecting abrasive material through a nozzle onto a structure at a high velocity. An enclosure is connected to the blasting device which surrounds the nozzle and forms a vacuum envelope around the nozzle and a portion of the structure being decontaminated. A vacuum apparatus is connected to the enclosure for providing a reverse air flow from the enclosure to a collection chamber in the vacuum. A high pressure pump/motor assembly delivers abrasion material at high pressure from a hopper to the blasting device. As contaminants are abraded from the structure, the reverse air flow provided to the enclosure causes the abrasive material and the material abraded from the structure to be collected in the collection chamber.
