Abstract: A method and apparatus for three-factor authentication using a short wireless device. The short wireless device stores a digital key and sends the digital key wirelessly to a third party application or device. The short wireless device can authenticate the user voice or movements in 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional space.
Abstract: A submerged biofiltration purifying apparatus includes a settling zone being a 3D space having open top, bottom, and two lateral sides; one or more filtering zones coupled to the two lateral sides of the settling zone, and each being a 3D space with open sides and having soft contact media connected thereto; and one or more bubble aeration units connected to bottoms of the filtering zones. The soft contact media allow biological films to grow thereon. The bubble aeration units generate air bubbles that guide sewage to flow toward the soft contact media, so that organic substances in the sewage are adsorbed to the biological films. The soft contact media are arranged at a specific angle for the sewage to naturally diffuse toward two lateral sides of the settling zone and recycle. And, purified water settles in the settling zone again to remove remaining suspended solids to achieve sewage purification.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for secure access to data, to application and to systems and for providing an alarm to users upon detecting that a monitored device is not within a desired proximity using a multi-function BLUETOOTH apparatus are described. The multi-function BLUETOOTH apparatus can also provide voice and location functionality.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for facilitating carrying a Bluetooth assistant comprising two detachable parts, with an attachment system in the first part and a rotatable earpiece in the second part. A user can conveniently carry the Bluetooth assistant as a key chain or a clip, and when needed, can detach the second part, rotate an earpiece and use it as a headset. The second part can monitor proximity to a mobile phone when not used as a headset and alarm if the mobile phone is not in proximity. The second part can also serve as a wireless key for unlocking one or multiple doors, personal electronic devices and/or encrypted data. When the user acquires a new lock, the wireless key can be updated to unlock that new lock.
Abstract: An emergency detection and notification system containing a short wireless transceiver collects sensor information from onboard sensors and or remote sensors and detects conditions that require attention. Upon detection of an exception, the emergency detection and notification system issues an audible request, and awaits a confirmation from the user. If a confirmation is not received, the emergency detection and notification system instructs a remote terminal or a VOIP service to dial a phone number, to issue messages, and to issue vocal signals corresponding to sensor information.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for wireless authentication, secure automatic access to application and to systems and for providing an alarm to users upon detecting that a monitored device is not within a desired proximity using a BLUETOOTH apparatus are described.
Abstract: An electrically conductive confined space ventilation conduit formed of a substantially rigid non-metallic conductive material, such as plastic, and a related process for ventilating an enclosure accessed by a manhole or other port. In one embodiment, the conduit has a pair of outer cylindrical sections and a central section having a cross-sectional shape of a crescent or a segment of a circle where it passes through a port to provide a minimum of obstruction for men and equipment passing through the port. Intermediate sections of varying cross-section connect the central section to the cylindrical outer sections so that the outer sections are offset from the axis of the manhole. The central section is preferably configured to obstruct no more than about 10 percent of a standard manhole opening, while causing either no air flow rate reduction, or a reduction of no more than about 10 percent as compared to the flow rate through a cylindrical conduit similar to said outer sections.
Abstract: A portable proximity alarm apparatus comprising a Bluetooth system and an alarm monitors the presence of a portable electronic device equipped with a compatible transceiver within range and alarms when that device leaves its range. On detecting disconnection, the proximity alarm automatically tries to reconnect. A portable proximity alarm apparatus with an optional voice mode allows to additionally use the unit as a headset when an earpiece is folded. A portable proximity alarm apparatus with relay functionality allows using a Bluetooth headset and proximity alarm functions unobtrusively on most mobile phones.
Abstract: A system for providing anesthesia or assisted ventilation that has a post-inspiratory valve fresh gas flow input is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, a fresh gas flow diverter valve is provided to permit an operator to provide fresh gas flow proximally or distally of the inspiratory valve. Also disclosed is an adaptor and other breathing circuit components for forming a system of the present invention. A method of providing anesthesia or assisted ventilation using low flow fresh gas is disclosed.

Abstract: A horticultural irrigation system comprising a plant growth container. The plant growth container comprises a receptacle for a plant growth medium, a reservoir, a container inlet, a float valve and an outlet means. The container inlet supplies water to the reservoir. The float valve is adapted to close the container inlet when the water in the reservoir reaches a pre-determined level. An outlet means allows the passage of water from the reservoir to the receptacle.
