Abstract: A new load tray especially well suited for use under loads on pallets is disclosed. The tray has a central load supporting base and as many as four flaps hingedly connected to the base. The tray includes flap supports for supporting the flaps and releasably maintaining them at a 90 to 135 degree angle relative to the base. The tray is designed so that it may be positioned on a pallet and have a load placed on it so that the flaps remain in an upstanding position so that when the load is wrapped, the flaps are held captive against the load.

Abstract: A device for cutting bar-shaped or tubular workpieces (1, 27), for example a peeling machine, is presented, in which, for the first time, the advance of the tools (7, 26, 44, 46) is brought about by a relative rotation between a toolholder (3, 25, 45) carrying the tools (7, 26, 44, 46) and an advancing sleeve (4, 24, 47). The toolholder (3, 25, 45) and advancing sleeve (4, 24, 47) are driven via gearwheels (19, 18) arranged on the same gear shaft (17) and having an oppositely oriented helical toothing. By means of an axial movement of the gear shaft (17), a relative rotation between the toolholder (3, 25, 45) and advancing sleeve (4, 24, 47) is achieved on account of the helical toothing. Moreover, it is proposed to use milling cutters (26, 44) as tools.
Abstract: Apparatus for orienting containers which have at least one ear on a side of the container is disclosed. Such apparatus is especially suited for use in combination with labeling equipment for applying a label to the oriented container so that at least one opening in a label registers with the at least one ear on the container. The apparatus comprises a star wheel with pockets which permit relatively free rotation of containers positioned within the pockets, an ear bump associated with each pocket in the star wheel and a releasable container hold down to prevent containers in the star wheel pockets from tilting while they are being oriented.
Abstract: A heatable glass pane is disclosed. The glass pane includes two bus bars which are located parallel to a base edge of the glass pane and arranged essentially in a line in their axial direction, spaced apart a short distance from one another. The glass pane includes a set of heating wires which are in electrical contact with the two contact busbars and the heating wires have essentially the same lengths.
Abstract: A ball valve cartridge is disclosed. It is especially well suited for freezeless hydrant applications and any other application where it is positioned remotely from a handle or other actuating element. The cartridge contains a ball valve element and an internal stem with a key for rotating the ball valve element between open and closed positions. The stem has rotational stop elements that limit rotational movement of the stem and the ball valve element. In a yard hydrant application, a drain valve can be added to regulate the opening and closing of the drain hole. It has an operational range of a quarter turn or ninety degrees.
Abstract: Apparatus for moving a toilet between a position where it is accessible to a person of restricted mobility and a storage position when not in use. The apparatus comprises two cooperating platforms, a first platform which rests on the floor of a room which houses the apparatus and a second platform. The first platform has a guide along an edge, and the second platform has an edge that is slidably received in the guide, and is supported so that it is capable of limited translational movement without rotation relative to the first platform. A physically impaired person can occupy a chair on the first platform, and can slide the second platform relative to the first to move a portable toilet on the second platform between a position in which it can be used and a storage position.
Abstract: A joint seal for torque transmitting joints is disclosed. The joint seal comprises a first seal ring, a second seal ring and a non-flexible seal housing having first and second ends. The first end of the seal housing includes a ring seal surface for engaging and sealing against an outer sealing surface on the first seal ring. The first ring seal includes an inner sealing surface for engaging and sealing against an outer surface of an outer race or some other component associated with a driven shaft of the joint. The second end of the non-flexing seal housing includes a ring seal surface for engaging and sealing against an outer sealing surface on the second seal ring. The second seal ring includes an inner sealing surface for engaging and providing a sliding seal against a driving shaft or some other component associated with a driving shaft of the joint.

Abstract: The invention relates to a check weigher comprising a machine body consisting of a front clamping plate and a rear hollow body which is fixedly or detachably connected to said clamping plate and is preferably used as a cabinet for receiving necessary electric and electronic components. The clamping plate is projected on all sides across the hollow body, thereby forming a fastening flange. The outer edge of said fastening flange is provided with a recessed and projected contour which is subdivided into any grid and enables to obtain a positive or non-positive secure connection of accessories with the machine body by means of two clamping plates having a corresponding contour and fixedly connected to a holding plate and additional clamping elements.

Abstract: A compact heavy duty double universal joint is disclosed. The joint comprises a torque coupler having an interior bore and a pair of bosses adjacent each end, a pair of collars pivotally connect to the bosses, a pair of yokes pivotally connect to the collars and a centering rod assembly in the bore of the coupler. The centering rod assembly is operable, when the operating angle of the joint is not zero, to position the torque coupler so that it splits the operating angle of the universal joint.
Abstract: A method for producing a bicycle wheel rim is disclosed. The method involves extruding a thin-walled, hollow body having the cross-sectional shape of the rim and an integral external tab. The walls of the hollow body are sufficiently thin that a length of the hollow body without the external tab is subject to buckling when roll formed to produce a rim. The tab is so positioned and sized that the hollow body with the integral external tab is not subject to buckling when roll formed. A portion of the extrusion is then rolled to a circular shape; the circular portion is cut from the extrusion; the free ends are connected, and the external tab is removed.
