  • Patent number: 6780369
Abstract: A method of finishing concrete using a vibrating tool to consolidate a “dry shake” aggregate into the upper layer of the concrete. The use of the vibrating tool causes moisture within the concrete mass to migrate into the surface layer where the moisture may hydrate the aggregates in the dry shake mixture. The ability to cause upward migration of water in the concrete mass provides a larger window of finishability for the concrete. The vibrations also provide thorough consolidation of aggregates in the upper layer of the concrete mass helping to prevent delamination.

  • Patent number: 6245172
Abstract: A method for manufacturing high deformation piezoelectric actuators and sensors using a continuous tape manufacturing process is provided. The ceramic layer is dispensed between two metal/adhesive layers to form a composite tape and is tack welded together. Lengths of composite tape are heated and then cut into individual actuators. A special pattern punched in the tapes allows for ease of alignment of the layers of the actuators.

  • Patent number: 6144142
Abstract: A laminated multi-layer piezoelectric transformer comprising two elements joined together with a conductive adhesive and having a bead of the conductive adhesive at the point of junction of the two elements on the exterior surface of the laminated multi-layer piezoelectric transformer and a mounting device for use therewith and comprising a conductive base having a first contact, and curvaceous arms extending at generally at right angles from the conductive base about said laminated multi-layer piezoelectric transformer, a portion of said arms contacting said bead and preferably designed to engage the distal ends of the arms of an insulating cap mounted on the opposing side of the laminated multi-layer piezoelectric transformer said cap having a second contact therein. This combination configured for mounting on a circuit board is also described.
