Abstract: A portable device is equipped with a clip for attachment thereof to an object. That device is provided with an undercut groove, and the clip is provided with a head fitting into that undercut groove. The clip is attached to the portable device by fitting that head of the clip into that undercut groove. A portable device may comprise a combination of an undercut groove and a device attachment clip having a head fit into that undercut groove. A clip for attachment of a portable device to an object may have a combination of a bent over end portion and lateral protrusions on that bent over end portion, such as for engagement of undercut sides of a groove in a portable device.

Abstract: An accessory mount for a firearm, that may be quickly, easily and firmly secured to a firearm, and quickly and easily removed from the firearm. In combination with a firearm including a receiver, a barrel longitudinally extending from the receiver, and a lug secured to the firearm above the barrel, the accessory mount includes a longitudinal mount body positioned along the barrel with the mount body's rear end supported by the receiver, a lever pivotally secured to the mount body's front end about a first transverse axis, the lever pivotally secured to the lug about a second transverse axis spaced along the lever from the first transverse axis, and a longitudinally adjustable member carried by the mount body for urging the lever to pivot about the second transverse axis to rearwardly urge the mount's rear end against the receiver.

Abstract: Automatic neutral finder apparatus for a motorcycle transmission, for automatically locating and positively engaging the transmission's neutral position. A preferred embodiment of the apparatus includes a shifter cam rotatable about an axis through predetermined rotational displacements for effecting gear shifts and having a neutral position; a stop indexed to the neutral position of the cam; a plunger actuable for engaging the stop to stop rotation of the cam when the cam is at its neutral position; and a circuit associated with the plunger and including a switch operable by the motorcycle operator for actuating the plunger to engage the stop. The plunger is further actuable for disengaging the stop, and the switch is preferably operable by the motorcycle operator for actuating the plunger to disengage the stop.

Abstract: A method and kit for teaching disabled students, such as children with developmental delays and disabilities such as autism, through music. The method makes extensive use of an illustrated song book and individual sound recordings of appropriate songs with lyrics, and tying the pages of the song book with the individual sound recordings of the songs by the use of icons or graphic images, including icon cards, representing respective ones of the songs. The method permits the students to find the appropriate page in the song book for following along as the selected song is being played, while also permitting the students to have a choice in the selection of songs to be experienced. The method and kit also provide the teacher with suggestions of activities for engaging the children, such activities being specific to the selected song being played.

Abstract: A flashlight having a flashlight head with two merged yet independent lamp/reflector systems, the head including a common reflector structure having two reflectors of differing light projecting characteristics, the two reflectors arranged side by side with a common boundary across part of the common reflector structure. A flashlight holder and battery charger includes interacting surfaces on the flashlight and the holder that permit insertion of the flashlight into the holder only when the flashlight is in a predetermined position relative to the holder, require that the flashlight be manually moved or rotated in a predetermined direction after insertion for locking the flashlight in the holder and for permitting battery charging only when the flashlight's lamps are disconnected from the batteries, and require that the flashlight be manually moved or rotated in the opposite direction for permitting removal of the flashlight from the holder.

Abstract: Apparatus for firing projectiles at targets and for illuminating such targets combine a projectile-firing weapon and a target illuminator. A track-and-slide combination includes a slide on the target illuminator and a track structure on the weapon for that slide, and a releasable slide-in-track stop in such rack-and-slide combination. In the case of a firearm that has a trigger actuated by a bent trigger finger of a shooter for the firing thereof, a push-button or transverse slide switch for the target illuminator may be mounted within reach of a pad of such trigger finger prior to actuation of the trigger. For example, the shooter may draw the firearm with his or her trigger finger then outstretched for actuation of the target illuminator switch, and may then bend such trigger finger for firing of the weapon by actuation of the trigger. Such and other appliances may have a battery compartment, and a contact plate interconnecting batteries in such compartment.

Abstract: An integrated multi-head device for effectively converting liquid into mists directed forwardly and laterally of the device. The device may be used by itself or combined with a fan for efficiently entraining the produced mists in the fan's airstream.

Abstract: A mount for securing a boot binding to a snowboard for permitting the binding to be easily rotated between a user-preferred snowboarding orientation preset by the binding, to an orientation approximately parallel to the snowboard's longitudinal axis, and to conveniently and accurately return the binding to its original preset snowboarding orientation.

Abstract: Engine brace apparatus for an overhead-valve engine comprising a crankcase, a cylinder, a cylinder head and a rocker arm box in operative securement, with pushrods communicating between the crankcase and the rocker arm box, and a rigid elongate member securing the rocker arm box to the crankcase outwardly of the pushrods. The brace adds rigidity to a conventional overhead-valve engine and structurally ties together the engine's rocker arm box, cylinder head, cylinder and crankcase, and prevents the engine's pushrods from lifting the rocker arm box.

Abstract: An album for containing items such as photographs or collectible cards, and its fabrication process, combining the advantages of a cover of one thermoplastic material with the different advantages of leaves of another thermoplastic material weld-incompatible with the cover material, using thermoplastic welding for securing the leaves to the cover. In its preferred embodiment, the album comprises a cover having vinyl inner and outer cover sheets secured to one another in superposed relation with a polypropylene sheet captured therebetween and extending along the cover's spine, and a plurality of polypropylene leaves thermally welded to the captured polypropylene sheet along the cover's spine and through the inner cover.

Abstract: A motorcycle reverse gear transmission that precludes inadvertent shifting into a forward gear when in reverse and inadvertent shifting into reverse when in a forward gear. The reverse gear transmission requires the forward ratio gears to be in neutral before shifting into reverse; during shifting, the apparatus locks the forward gears in neutral and then engages the reverse gear. The forward ratio gears are unlocked from neutral after the reverse gear is disengaged.

Abstract: Security apparatus and a method for preventing theft or unauthorized removal of instruments from the cockpit instrument panel of an aircraft and for preventing theft or unauthorized use of the aircraft. The apparatus includes a rigid plate substantially covering the instrument panel and two rigid arms pivotally secured to the plate inwardly of the columns respectively and laterally pivotable rearwardly away from and forwardly toward the plate. Each of the arms include an end portion for restrainably engaging the aircraft flight control yokes against rotation when the arms are pivoted to extend rearwardly away from the plate while the columns are fully rearwardly extended and the yokes are fully rotated to one side. A locking device is engageable with the end portions of the arms for locking the arms rearwardly extended and for cooperating with the yokes to prevent forward displacement of the columns while securing the plate against the instrument panel.
