Abstract: An upright treatment system including a source housing including a radiation source operable to emit an orientated radiation beam, a source positioner operable to rotate the source housing through an elevation angle about a source housing elevation rotation axis which generally intersects a center of gravity of the source housing, and a target positioner operable to position a target linearly along a generally vertical target rotation axis for interception with the radiation beam, wherein the target positioner is further operable to rotate the target about the target rotation axis.
Abstract: A clamp including a plurality of clamping assemblies, a first of the clamping assemblies including two opposing clamping jaws that have first-shaped clamping surfaces, the clamping jaws being movably mounted on support structure for movement towards and away from each other; and a second of the clamping assemblies including two opposing clamping jaws that have second-shaped clamping surfaces which are shaped differently than the first-shaped clamping surfaces and which are movably mounted on support structure for movement towards and away from each other.
Abstract: A syringe adapter element for use in a drug mixing system including a housing element having a syringe port adapted for fluid connection with a syringe and a fluid port adapted for fluid connection with a fluid flow adapter element, a needle and at least one septum disposed in the housing element, the needle having a sealed orientation wherein the at least one septum blocks fluid flow through the needle and a fluid flow orientation wherein the needle punctures the at least one septum so as to permit fluid to flow through the needle, and an anti-separation device adjacent the fluid port, such that when the syringe adapter element is connected to a fluid flow adapter element, the anti-separation device applies a force that acts against separating the syringe adapter element from the fluid flow adapter element.
Abstract: An acoustic wave device including an acoustic wave transducer adapted to generate an acoustic wave in a propagation liquid, the acoustic wave transducer having an inner contour defined by rotating a curve about a rotation axis of symmetry, wherein the curve and the acoustic wave are not parallel to the rotation axis of symmetry, and a focusing lens arranged with respect to the acoustic wave transducer so as to focus the acoustic wave emanating from the acoustic wave transducer to a focal point.
Abstract: A method including sensing movement of an existing non-shot-indicator of a handgun, and interpreting a sensed movement of the existing non-shot-indicator as a shot fired from the handgun so that the sensed movement serves as a shot counter for the handgun.
Abstract: An electromagnetic launch system including an electrothermal launcher, an inductive power supply (IPS), including a DC source (Vb) and a storage inductor (L), and an opening switch (OS), wherein at least a portion of at least one of the IPS and the OS is integrated in a projectile.
Abstract: A method for visualizing objects under light obstructing barriers of a target, the method including emitting an ultrasound wave and a laser wave towards a target, detecting a reflected laser wave is detected by optical means, analyzing the optical signal at the ultrasound frequency with demodulation means, generating ultrasonic image characteristics of the interaction of the ultrasound with the different layers of the target, and generating an optical image of the target obtained using optical imaging, wherein the ultrasonic image is fused with the optical image and the fused image is displayed on a display device.
