  • Patent number: 7062889
Abstract: A peripherally encapsulated product, such as an oven door outer shell, is molded in accordance with this invention by placing a piece of glass between mold clamping portions of relatively movable closed bodies when the latter are in an open position. Preferably both bodies are heated and thermosetting polymeric material (SMC or BMC) is placed upon selected areas of one of the mold bodies within and about an area corresponding to an annular mold cavity and outboard of a peripheral edge of a piece of glass. The glass is clamped between mold clamping portions of the mold bodies which are then progressively closed creating compression forces which extrude the thermosetting polymeric material into the annular cavity and into complete encapsulation of the continuous peripheral edge of the piece of glass. The handle can be integrally molded during the molding process.

  • Patent number: 7057871
Abstract: The actuation circuit for an actuator (10) includes an energy store (11) arranged near the actuator (10). The energy store (11) is configured such that it instantaneously discharges in response to a trigger signal, wherein the discharge current or voltage is limited to that amount which is required to operate the actuator (10). This ensures rapid response of the actuator (10) without an overshoot of the discharge energy occurring.

  • Patent number: 7055712
Abstract: A container for hot carry-out food includes a container body and a cover, each having flanges and the flanges defining a pair of seals between which is a condensation collecting chamber and radially outboard of an outermost seal is a second condensation collecting chamber which is continuously vented to atmosphere through radial venting passages or channels. Under elevated pressures, as might occur when hot food is packages in the container, the innermost seal opens permitting steam/gasses to vent into the innermost condensation collection chamber in which the steam might condense as condensate. Under higher internal container pressures, the outboardmost seal may also open and vent gasses from the innermost condensation chamber through/into the outermost condensation collection chamber and continuously from the latter to atmosphere through a plurality of continuously open circumferential spaced radial venting passages or channels.

  • Patent number: 7044927
Abstract: An extracorporeal blood treatment system comprises an ECB station with an ECB unit, such as a dialysis machine. Via a web server and a browser, the ECB station communicates with a data net to which external browsers and external web servers are connected. Thus, settings and maintenance operations may be performed on the ECB unit from a remote location. On the other hand, patient-related, machine-related or drug-related data or statistical data or consumption-related data can be transmitted from the ECB station to a remote location. The communication between a user interface, e.g., a touch screen, and the ECB unit is done via the internal browser. Thus, the user interface has access to the data net. The ECB unit receives all data, information and instructions via the web server. Thereby, data of different sources can be processed in the same format and be given different authorizations.

  • Patent number: 7036170
Abstract: The invention is directed to a mattress retainer system for adjustable beds which includes a mattress-retention bracket housed within a pocket of a mattress accessible in an upward direction through an opening along a bottom edge of the mattress. The pocket is formed by attaching a separate piece of material along a bottom edge of the mattress at one or both of opposite head/foot ends thereof and permitting an overlying downwardly projecting portion of a peripheral covering of the mattress to remain free thereby defining the opening into the pocket.

  • Patent number: 7032350
Abstract: A washer door or lid as defined by a tempered glass panel bordered by an open frame-like encapsulation of one-piece injection molded polymeric/copolymeric synthetic plastic material. The latter material is preferably acrylonitrile/styrene/acrylate polymer blended with mica glass beads at a ratio of substantially 70%–30% to 90%–10% by weight, but preferably 80%–20% by weight. Further specifics of the washer lid include a relatively thick inner periphery of the encapsulation which securely grips and reinforces an outer peripheral edge of the tempered glass panel, a rigid outer peripheral skirt, an indiscrete handle, a reinforced hand corder for a switch actuator and opposite rear corners carrying hinges for securing the washer lid to an associated washer opening.

  • Patent number: 7024900
Abstract: Beading of containers such as two and three piece can bodies by rolling the can body between tools, typically a roll/roll or a roll/rail of a rotary turret system. During beading, a load is applied along the central axis of the can body, whereby axial and panel performance of the beaded can is improved. This load is applied for example by the use of miniature air bags which are fixed to the turret.

  • Patent number: 7021179
Abstract: The power screwdriver comprises a functional part (11) with a housing (14) through which a shaft (17) passes. The shaft (17) is provided with a toothing (18), into which a ratchet lever of the functional part (11) engages. A splined shaft toothing (20) of the shaft (17) has an insertion recess (21) that changes into a cavity (22). The wall of the cavity (22) is provided with a torsion sensor (23) and forms a measuring section (25) that is located in the area of the shaft (17) covered by the housing (14). A torsion measurement is effected in the measuring section (25). Due to the measuring section (25) being located in the area of the shaft covered by the housing (14), the shaft (17) is relatively short whereby it may be used under tight spatial screwing conditions involving a low head height above the screw. The power wrench is additionally provided with an angle measuring device (33) whereby torque and angle of rotation can be simultaneously provided and can be used for controlling and recording.

  • Patent number: 7019771
Abstract: The components (11) to be examined are held by suction at a support device (10) and inspected by a video camera. The workpiece is recorded from two different sides via different beam paths (25, 26) using the same video camera, wherein two pictures of the same object are reproduced in different views and evaluated by image processing. Thus, it can be determined whether the component (11) is intact and, in particular, whether its legs (13) are present and at the correct place.

  • Patent number: 7000486
Abstract: In the method for controlling an intermittent screw process first a torque mode (DMM) is applied in which the torque is continuously measured. Upon attainment of a pre-torque (MF) a rotation angle mode (DWM) is carried out in which the rotation angle is measured. Proceeding from the rotation angle ?=0 (corresponding to the pre-torque (MF)) the rotation angle (?) is counted up during each stroke. In this connection that torque (MHE) is stored which has been reached at the end of the stroke. During the next stroke the angle (?) is continued to be counted only when the torque (MHE) at the stroke end of the previous stroke has been reached again. Upon attainment of a target angle (?z) the screw process is terminated.

  • Patent number: 6997352
Abstract: A liquid dispenser has a support (2) for a collapsible container (28) and a connector (60), including a stopper (8), to connect an actuator of the liquid dispenser to the collapsible container (28). The stopper (8) is movable from a first position to a second position in which the stopper (8) connects to the collapsible container (28), whereby operation of the actuator causes the delivery of liquid from the dispenser. The collapsible container (28) is a flexible pouch (38) having a valve (52) which, upon movement of the stopper (8) into its second position, is moved from a first position preventing loss of liquid from the pouch (38), into a second position in which the stop valve (52) allows the delivery of a quantity of liquid from the dispenser.
