Abstract: A palette changer for work tool machines, wherein a palette (44) is pushed by means of a swing arm (42) from the palette receiver (20) of a sled (14) over a bridge table (28) onto a transfer station (50). The sweeping movement of the swing arm (42) is driven by means of a pinion (38) which engages a fixed rack (24). The bridge table (28) is transported along with the sled (14) so that the palette guide (22 or 30) of the sled (14) and the bridge table (28) during the sliding of the sled (14) are constantly in alignment. The entire palette exchange is exclusively driven and controlled by the movement of the sled (14).

Abstract: A design for a piece of glass by means of which the piece of glass, such as window glass, can be sturdily contact mated to an internal face of a frame or bay. As a result of the window edge shape, contact between the glass and housing is improved, undesirable ventilation is inhibited, lateral displacement is restrained, and rattling is prevented. The invention further concerns a system for mounting window glass in an automobile, a recreational vehicle or a building.
Abstract: A process for imparting scratch resistance to an ophthalmic lens during the process of edging. A scratch resistance imparting film is releasably adhered to the side of the lens to which a mounting block is to be attached. An opening is provided in the film, through which the mounting block can be affixed directly to the lens.

Abstract: The invention concerns a grip for a tubular shafted surgical instrument having two grip parts. The grip parts have grip contact surfaces which run generally parallel to each other and to the shaft tube. The first grip part is securely attached to the shaft tube, while the second grip part is pivotable as a rocker and engages the operational element of the tubular shaft instrument.
Abstract: A wheel chock for aircraft comprising a first inverted U-shaped channel member which includes a horizontal upper surface and side surfaces extending downwardly therefrom to form vertical side edges. A first side panel is secured to one side edge of the first channel member and extends horizontally in a first direction with at least one locking hole extending therethrough. An aperture extends through each side surface of the first channel member in axial alignment about a horizontal axis. Both apertures are of a common predetermined diameter. A second U-shaped channel member includes a horizontal upper surface and side surfaces extending downwardly therefrom to form vertical side edges. A second side panel is secured to one side edge of the second channel member and extends horizontally in a second direction opposite from the first direction with at least one locking hole extending therethrough adapted to be positioned in alignment with at least one of the holes of the first side panel.
Abstract: The cyclic Isolongifolanone ketals of the general formula A wherein the wavy lines mean .alpha.- and .beta.-configuration and R,R' mean radicals of hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, are new. With preference they are used either as odorants or as components of perfume compositions. They are manufactured from Isolongifolene which is itself produced from Longifolene as is well known. Isolongifolene is oxydized to Isolongifolene-3-on and this is reacted with aliphatic 1,2-diols in apolar solvents with the separation of water.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for inverting direct current electrical power into alternating current electrical power by producing a moving magnetic field having substantially constant flux density when the direct current power is applied to a primary winding, magnetically coupling a secondary winding to the moving magnetic field and creating a substantially triangular-shaped current in each phase of the primary winding so as to produce substantially sinusoidal alternating current in each phase of the secondary winding.
Abstract: A device adapted for holding an object comprising, in combination, an exterior component shaped in an inverted generally U-shaped cross-sectional configuration, the exterior component having a resilient upper portion and a lower portion formed of legs and terminating in parallel lines, the legs being movable, upon the application of pressure, to a holding orientation with the parallel lines spaced a distance to preclude the passage of a minnow therethrough, upon the release of the pressure, the legs move to a release orientation with the parallel lines spaced a distance to allow the passage of an object therethrough. A resilient interior component with an upper end adjacent to the upper portion and a lower end adjacent to a location above the parallel lines for thereby assisting in the return of the parallel lines to the release orientation after grasping an object in the space between the short legs and the lower end of the interior component.
Abstract: An exercise device for chin-ups which comprises a first support of a rigid material which has a first end and a second end and a mid point therebetween positionable in a horizontal orientation with its ends adjacent to the upper extent of a door opening on the first side thereof. The first support has vertical exterior apertures adjacent to the ends and vertical interior apertures between the exterior apertures and the midpoint. Further included is a second support of a rigid material with a lower horizontal extent positioned upon the upper sill of a door opening on the second side thereof opposite from the first side and with a vertical extent positionable against a vertical wall surface above the upper sill. The board has a first end and a second end a midpoint therebetween with horizontal apertures extending therethrough adjacent to its ends. The length of the second support is less than the length of the first support with the midpoints in a common vertical plane.
Abstract: In a frame with a horizontal bed (10) and a vertical upright (12) there is for bracing and stiffening a vertical rigid wall (14) rigidly with the bed (10) and the upright (12) connected. The bed (10), the upright (12) and the wall (14) are cast as a single piece of a polymerizable resin-concrete. The wall (14) provides the frame with a high bend and torsional stiffness at a low weight. The wall (14) additionally serves to receive guides and bearing arrangements for functional elements of the machine tool, which by this means can be disposed spatially one above the other.

Abstract: An electric current sensor employing a Hall effect generator to be used in measuring electrical currents flowing in an electrical conductor. The sensor comprises an amplifier, a constant current source, a gapped toroid core mounted on the component side of a printed circuit board (PCB), a Hall effect generator extending via its output leads from the PCB into the gap of the toroid core, and an inductive loop positioned at the edge of the gap of the toroid core. The inductive loop itself comprises a simple trace formed on the component side of the PCB together with its plated-through-holes extending from the component of the PCB to the printed circuit (clad) side of the PCB. The PCB inductive loop placed at the edge of the gap of the toroid core and connected in series opposition to the output leads of the Hall effect generator, compensates for the unwanted induced voltages in the output leads of the Hall generator.
Abstract: An electric autoinflator for inflating inflatable devices such as personal flotation devices, life rafts, buoys and emergency signalling equipment. The electric autoinflator comprises an actuator assembly including a fusible link. A water-sensing electrical circuit and battery supplies electrical current to the fusible link actuator assembly upon immersion in water for a predetermined period of time. Upon fusing of the link, the actuator assembly forcibly causes a firing pin of the inflator to pierce the frangible seal of a compressed gas cartridge. The escaping gas then inflates the inflatable device.

Abstract: A process and a device for determining the moisture content of the material of a test object using microwaves. The properties of a resonator such as resonance frequency, resonance half-width value and amplitude of the resonance can be measured using a digitally tunable quartz-stable PLL-controlled microwave generator. By special processing of the variations in the results due to detuning of the resonator when it is being filled with a product, the moisture content of the material in the product can be measured exactly, independently of the density of the material and largely independently of the type of material and of changes in additives. The same measurement equipment can be used, without any rearrangement of the hardware, both in the ppm range and up to moisture contents greater than 80%. In addition, there are no special requirements concerning the shape of the sample.

Abstract: An in-store advertising system for displaying advertisements involves preparing graphical art from the actual products or from flat art, for each advertised product. Each frame is stored in computer memory as a digital graphics file. As desired, pricing and advertising copies are added as overlays to the digital art of each frame. Control data is defined for each frame indicating its destination location(s) and the run time for each destination location. The digital graphic files containing a digital frame and the respective control data for each frame are then loaded into an uplink control computer. The control data is analyzed by the uplink computer to compute an adlist which lists the digital frames and their respective destination locations. The uplink control computer is interfaced to a satellite addressable network control system (ANCS) to unmute the desired satellite receiver(s) at the remote location(s), based upon a predefined transmission script.
