Abstract: An rf pulse compressor has a single high Q cavity resonator fed by a four port hybrid coupler which is connected to the resonator at coupling ports located at the intersection of two of the resonator's orthogonal axes with the resonator cavity walls. The hybrid coupler divides pulse power from an rf pulse power source and excites two space and phase orthogonal modes in the single cavity, the stored energy of which aids in producing compressed pulses at the output of the hybrid. On-axis perturbations in the cavity walls can be used to lock the orthogonal orientation of the modes excited in the cavity.

Abstract: A utensil for flavoring fowl while cooking it over a heat source such as a barbecue has a pan-shaped base with a center portion and an upright cup-shaped holder extending upward from the top side of the base's center portion. An upright liquid infuser tube is provided which can be removably placed within the cup-shaped holder. The infuser tube has a bottom end sized to be loosely fit within the cup-shaped holder and sidewalls that extend above the cup-shaped holder when the infuser tube is placed in the holder. The extension of the infuser tube's sidewalls form a top portion of the infuser tube which has at least one infuser opening, and which is insertable into the body cavity of a fowl. The base's cup-holder is sized to receive a standard beverage can, such that the infuser tube can be exchanged with an open beverage can, such as a beer can, if desired.

Abstract: An edge connectable lighting fixture assembly has a lighting fixture housing for housing a light source and components for supporting and electrifying the light source including wiring. The housing has at least one laterally extending edge portion and a connecting structure extending along at least a portion of the length of the edge portion with a wire passageway passing through the connecting structure. An edge connector arm has at least one terminal end and a connecting structure formed on the terminal end of the arm which mechanically connects with the connecting structure formed along the edge portion of the housing so that the housing can be mechanically connected at its edge to the terminal end of the edge connector arm.

Abstract: A circuit and method provides for the protection of transducers from over excursion, particularly for the protection of transducers for audio loudspeakers. A frequency dependent excursion limiter circuit has an initial summing stage followed by a shaping filter stage. A clamping function is provided at the summing stage, or at a separate stage between the summing stage and the shaping filter stage, for clamping the driving signal at a predetermined maximum voltage if the driving signal exceeds the predetermined maximum voltage level. The shaping filter stage provides a frequency response shaping function based on a predetermined frequency response shaping criteria which is related to the frequency dependent excursion limits of the transducers being protected from mechanical overload. An inverse shaping filter function is provided at the initial summing stage by providing feedback from the shaping filter stage, thus eliminating the need for a separate inverse shaping filter circuit before clamping.
