Abstract: An electrical power control apparatus and method for power factor correction in a conventional 60 hertz or other conventional frequency electrical AC power supply communicated to an inductive load. A plurality of interruptions of current in the line on both sides of an AC current oscillation, are created to control the power factor in a circuit energizing an inductive load. Additional power factor control and correction is provided by grounding of the line during each interruption. A controller controls the length and duration of each interruption based on preprogramming or input regarding current phase read or calculated in the line.
Abstract: A racket grip training apparatus providing user chosen static positioning of a tennis racket in the hand at angles to the forearm that are determinable and repeatable. The device further provides components to set the face angle of the racket engaged to the device and visual indica to allow for the same positioning in subsequent uses. A planar member is removably engageable to the user's forearm at a first end and has an aperture at an opposite end adapted to encircle the grip of a racket and sized to prevent rotation of the racket axis past predetermined limits relative to the axis of the planar member.
Abstract: An agent and method for treating biodegradable synthetic yarns fabricated from a polymer comprising lactic acid as a main component, which enable improved lubricity, cohesion, etc. to be so imparted to the biodegradable synthetic yarns that the yarns can be prevented from fuzzing and breaking at every step from spinning to down-stream step, especially at a false twisting step and improved in terms of bulkiness, providing yarns having improved mechanical properties in a stable manner. The agent of the invention comprises 0.1 to 30 weight % of a specific functional agent, and a lubricant and a surfactant in the total amount of 70 weight % or greater, and has a friction coefficient in the range of 0.04 to 0.35.
Abstract: A device for identifying individual cables communicating between many remote locations to one central location using the building AC ground circuit to communicate between the remote location and the central location. The device includes a plurality of tubes adapted to engage individual cables and corresponding light-emitting diodes (LED) adjacent to each tube. A needle in the tube provides communication with the wire of the insulated cable. A remote interconnection cable provides connection between cable remote ends, and the building ground circuit concurrently providing a means to prevent engagement with the energized AC circuits.
Abstract: An improved incandescent mantle formed of a woven fabric tube and having at least one open end with a fireproof attaching material provided for attaching at least one of the ends of the tube to a burner. At least one additional fireproof material portion is provided between the burner and mantle to reinforce and protect the mounted mantle from jarring forces.
Abstract: An improved dental floss employing a planar substrate with one or a plurality of apertures formed therein. At each aperture, a pair of edible substrate side portions having a perimeter portion slightly larger than the perimeter of the aperture are positioned and joined to each other through the aperture in the planar substrate thereby securing the edible substrate to the planar substrate. Dismounting of the edible substrate is achieved by tensioning the planar substrate around a tooth during use and aided by saliva dissolving the edible substrate. The edible substrate can be flavored or impregnated with medicine, mouthwash or flavorings. Additionally at least one of the two side portions of the edible substrate may include a design element which may include a geometric shape, a cartoon shape, indicia, or a logo.
Abstract: To provide a dispersing apparatus that can stir media in a vessel uniformly, and by increasing the shearing power at stirring, can perform quality constant dispersion with high dispersing efficiency. In a dispersing apparatus wherein a basket-shaped vessel 2 containing dispersing medium consisting of ceramic balls, zirconia balls, and the like is submerged in a tank 8 filled with a compound, and stirrer vanes 28 are rotated in the above vessel to stir the above dispersing medium, and the compound that goes through the inside of the above vessel 2 is dispersed, a rotation driving mechanism 11 for rotating the above vessel 2 in the opposite direction to the above stirrer components.

Abstract: This invention is used in communications, for example, in expanded signal spectrum broadband communication systems. The technical effect of this invention consists in an enhanced narrow-band interference suppression factor and almost complete elimination of the effect displayed by a powerful narrow-band interference or a group of narrow-band interferences in a limited frequency band. A noise signal formed in the frequency band (F0, F1) in the transmission channel of a broadband communication system is power-modulated by a given modulation technique at a modulation frequency Fmod<<(F1?F0) and passed through a propagation medium, in which a narrow-band interference is superimposed thereon; received in the receiver; filtered in the frequency band (F0, F1); amplified, and divided into two signals. One of the signals is obtained by amplifying the filtered signal and limiting the amplitude thereof, and the other signal is the filtered signal or a signal linearly amplified without altering the shape thereof.

Abstract: A device and method for forming designs into the haired surface on the body. The device features a design head having a shape defined by a perimeter edge and a support shaft engaged with the design head. Hair is trimmed from the haired surface adjacent to the perimeter with one hand while the other hand compresses the design head against the haired surface. A second shape may be formed by trimming the haired surface inside of an aperture located inside the perimeter edge of the design head.
Abstract: The present invention contemplates a novel method and device that employs a coordinate scanner to monitor an identifiable surface and communicate to a computer the exact location of the placement of a pointer on any identified surface and perform a variety of preprogrammed responses. This surface is identified to a computer by identifying indicia such as a bar code or other means such as user input. The computer will perform preprogrammed electronic responses to identified points on the surface by matching the identified point on the surface with an electronic version of the surface in memory. The designated surface may be flat or it may consist of a contoured surface in a wide variety of sizes and materials. The designated surface may be a test enabling answers by point designation or an advertisement enabling ordering by designating products on the surface or other types of indicia on a surface.
Abstract: A drag wheel and mount attachable to the angular skid bracket engaged on the rear of a motor vehicle such as a trailer or motorhome without removing or otherwise altering the angular skid bracket. The device features a roller rotationally engaged on the distal end of a mount. The mount is adapted to attach to the angular skid bracket in a compressible engagement without altering or drilling the skid bracket or detaching it from the vehicle. The roller projects past the lower surface of the angular skid bracket on two sidewalls and contacts the road surface in the event the vehicle tilts sufficiently to cause the skid bracket to strike the road.
Abstract: An eyewear apparatus for treating dry eye conditions featuring a pair of curved eyecups having interior cavities for providing treatment to the eyes when worn. Each interior cavity has a sidewall surface adapted to removably engage with the perimeter edge of a moisture pad which may be mounted therein to provide moisture, aroma, or medicinal treatment to the eye. An ocular cavity formed in the moisture pads provides a separate treatment chamber to each of the two eyes of a user. Heat or cold may also be provided to the ocular chamber through temperature components which mount to the moisture pad or in a gap between the moisture pad and the front of the interior cavity.
Abstract: A quick acting gated retainer for wire, cable, or other elongated material requiring a permanent or temporary mount. The device features one or a pair of spring biased gates on one or both sides rotating and concurrently translating inwardly, during both the insertion and removal process of cable from the guide cavity formed to hold the inserted cable. This provides a clear line for both insertion and removal of cable or similar elongated objects from the guide cavity and prevention of damage to the inserted object from the gates which will naturally retract from contact with the inserted wire since the gates translate as well as rotate in their engagement. The nylon structure with the internal reinforcing guarantees a long lasting, rigid device that will not damage wires, cables or ropes held within the guide cavity.
Abstract: A variable gear ratio device featuring geared segments with variable gear ratio adapted for inclusion into mechanical machines, motors and pumps where there is a constant requirement for a variable transfer ratio for the variability and optimization of the load of torque that are formed by a driving shaft and driven shaft. The device features a plurality of engaged gears capable of eccentric rotation where the axis of rotation of the driven shaft is moved outside of the center axis of the driving eccentric geared segment.
