Patent number: 4016670Abstract: An ice fishing device has a rod and reel member pivotally connected between its ends to the upper end of a mast member which has its lower end portion firmly anchored in an ice mound (initially firmly packed wet snow or slush) adjacent to the hole in the ice, the rod and reel member being retained in normal fishing position by locating the pivotal connection forwardly of the center of gravity of the rod and reel member whereby a downward pull on the tip of the rod portion by a striking or hooked fish will swing the rod and reel member against the gravity force moment to signal the fisherman to reel the fish in. The pivotal connection between the rod and reel member and the mast member enables folding of the device to compact lateral and longitudinal size.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 1976Date of Patent: April 12, 1977Inventors: Eino Pihlaja, Risto Hirvasoja

Patent number: 4013186Abstract: A tire press unloader for use with a tire press of the standing bladder type which includes a vertically extensible elevator stanchion pivoted at its lower end at the back of the press and pivotally supporting a conveyor platform. When the press is opened and the cured tire has been elevated by the bladder mechanism, the conveyor platform is positioned beneath the cured tire on firm supports to provide an unyielding horizontal platform engaging and supporting the tire as the bladder is stripped therefrom. When the green tire is on the platform clear of the bladder, the platform elevates and then tilts backwardly to lift the cured tire over the top of the standing bladder mechanism. The tire then rolls down to a tire stop and the platform retracts. Cam stop means may be provided as the platform descends with the tire causing the platform to tilt at least partially to clear the motor housing or other parts of the press.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 1974Date of Patent: March 22, 1977Assignee: NRM CorporationInventors: Dale S. Patent number: 4011508Abstract: A probe for testing logic signals or the like occurring in electric circuits and for indicating whether such signals are at low, intermediate or high level or that an open circuit exists in the tested circuit includes first and second parallel connected display portions, the former having a first liquid crystal indicator in series with a battery the latter including a second liquid crystal. The first liquid crystal is normally energized when the difference between the battery voltage and the received signal being tested exceeds the threshold level thereof, and the second liquid crystal is normally energized when the voltage of the received signal being tested exceeds the threshold level thereof, such energization indicating whether the tested signal is at high or low level. De-energization of both liquid crystals indicates that the tested signal is at an intermediate level, also known as the deadband region between low and high level signals, or that an open circuit exists in the tested circuit.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 1975Date of Patent: March 8, 1977Assignee: A & P Products IncorporatedInventor: Robert J. Patent number: 4009983Abstract: A mold clamping mechanism for an injection molding machine characterized in that a relatively large mold clamping cylinder has a passage in its piston intercommunicating the head and rod ends of said mold clamping cylinder during stroking of said piston by a relatively small actuating cylinder for flow of oil from said head end into said rod end and into a makeup fluid tank having a capacity corresponding to the displacement of the piston rod of said mold clamping piston and vice versa during the respective mold opening and closing strokes. To effect mold clamping at required tonnage, the mold clamping cylinder has a port through which fluid under high pressure is admitted not only into the mold clamping piston to act on a fluid pressure actuated valve therein to close said passage, but also into the head end of the mold clamping cylinder to pressurize the fluid trapped therein by the closing of said passage.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 1976Date of Patent: March 1, 1977Inventor: Arthur William Jacobs

Patent number: 4009642Abstract: A differential pressure sensing valve has an axially shiftable spool including axially-spaced spool areas on which a pair of pressure sources connectable with such valve act in a predetermined direction with spool shifting force. Biasing means normally biases such spool with spool shifting force in a direction opposite to the predetermined direction. The opposite spool shifting forces are substantially balanced over the normal operating range of the pressure sources for maintaining such spool in an operating position for normal flow of fluid through the valve. Such opposite spool shifting forces are substantially unbalanced for shifting such spool out of such operating position when the pressure sources substantially deviate from their normal operating range.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 1974Date of Patent: March 1, 1977Assignee: Pneumo CorporationInventor: Robert D. Patent number: 4008880Abstract: A wire tightener or puller includes a frame with a shaft journalled between and through holes in the sides of the frame. Projections on the shaft adjacent the inside of the frame maintain the shaft in position and cam strike stops in the frame adjacent the holes cooperate with the projections to act as a ratchet precluding the shaft from rotating in one direction passed the strikes. One wire end is secured to the frame and the other to the shaft with the latter being provided with a squared or flattened end so that it may be rotated in the one direction permitted with a suitable tool to wind one end of the wire on the shaft with the projections camming over the cam strikes. The resilience of the frame permits the sides to separate slightly enabling the projections to cam over such cam strikes.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1975Date of Patent: February 22, 1977Inventor: Michel Devis
