Abstract: A cable protector includes a channel recessed into, and extending along the upper surface of a base. A number of dividers can be removably inserted into the channel from above to divide the channel into a plurality of tracks for carrying cables that can be inserted from above. Alternatively, a removable tray with a desired number of dividers can be placed as a unit in the channel, instead of inserting individual dividers. A lid covers the channel and dividers to provide a surface for traffic over the cable protector. Sets of complementary fasteners, such a tabs and keyed slots, can be employed to removably secure the dividers in the channel of the cable protector.
Abstract: A suction nozzle holster is provided with a latch mechanism for receiving a universally adjustable strap having a groove system whose individual grooves can engage with a pawl of a lever arm of said latch mechanism. A forward surface of the holster may be provided with a hole into which a suction hose can be forced in order to constrict said hose and, hence, curtail the vacuum conditions in a suction nozzle serviced by that hose.
Abstract: A rail joint assembly joining the ends of two rails together includes a pair of joint bars. Each joint bar having one side configured to the rail web side. Mechanical fasteners mount the joint bars to the web sides. Pairs of load bearing keys are embedded in web counter bores at predetermined depths into the webs and embedded in adjacent joint bar counter bores at predetermined depths into the joint bars. The pairs of keys in the webs and the joint bars transfer railway loads through the joint and substantially strengthen the rail joint assembly.

Abstract: A fast operating, free egress latch system is provided with a cam having three distinct surfaces. One of these surfaces has a concave inner cam region for receiving a window latch pin. Another of these surfaces serves to prevent inadvertent relocking of a window, skylight, door, etc. once it has been opened.
Abstract: A muffler for an engine in oilfield applications has a tube with nozzles in its inlet section for spraying a mist of water from the well into the exhaust gases produced by the engine, so that a significant portion of the water is converted to water vapor and exits with the exhaust gases at the outlet of the tube. Vortex generators on the interior surface of the midsection of the tube create turbulence in the exhaust gases and water mist. A sump at the outlet section of the tube collects the remaining water and pollutants trapped by the water for subsequent disposal.
Abstract: A device is disclosed for attracting predetermined species of animals based on fractal geometry and the animal's own color perception. The device includes a planar object having at least two opposed faces and a shape unique to the fractal dimension of the predetermined animal species which the device is designed to attract. A light emitting surface is disposed on at least one face of the planar object. The surface is covered with light generating elements adapted to emit a light color based on color perception of the predetermined specific species, which color wavelength and brilliance is unnatural in normal surroundings relative to that species' own color perception. Finally, a mechanism is provided for mounting the object and enabling oscillatory-like movement in the object about an axis thereof.
Abstract: A ball kicking-training apparatus has a base which vertically supports a post having a rotatable axle whose top end is provided with a ball and socket device. The ball component of the ball and socket device is attached to an arm whose opposite end is attached to the ball to be kicked by the user of the apparatus.
Abstract: A hydrolasing system for use in storage tanks includes a remotely-operated water lance having an elongated main body and an axle assembly that folds parallel to the main body so that it can be deployed and retrieved through a small-diameter riser of storage tank. After deployment, the system can be remotely operated within the tank to remove hardened salt cake.

Abstract: An apparatus for maintaining a dry field during dental procedures includes a U-shaped tongue shield for holding the patient's tongue in a retracted position. Cheek distention arms extend laterally outward and forward from the tongue shield to distend the cheek away from the teeth. Lip retractors extend from the cheek distention arms in an arcuate shape above and below the cheek distention arms. Webbing extends between the lip retractors and cheek distention arms to support the soft tissue within the patient's mouth distal to the orbicularis oris muscle.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for resurfacing ice surfaces such as ice hockey playing surfaces wherein an ice shaving blade system and an ice scooping system operate over the entire width of (or the entire length of) the playing surface.
Abstract: A shoulder restraint attachment device for a motor vehicle (comprising a bolt, a mandrel, a cup and a nut) can be employed to deform a portion of the motor vehicle's roof in such a manner that a shoulder strap, such as those employed in three point restraint systems, can be securely and aesthetically mounted to the motor vehicle roof.
Abstract: An intraoral mandibular advancement device to treat sleep disorders in a user having an obstructed airway includes a maxillary appliance with a main body for removable attachment to the maxillary teeth; a protrusive element distending from the central portion of the main body; and retention means extending from the main body for retention of the device on the maxillary teeth during sleep. A mandibular appliance removably attaches to the mandibular anterior teeth and includes a lingual spacer that extends posteriorly from the mandibular anterior teeth. The anterior aspect of the protrusive element of the maxillary appliance contacts the posterior edge of the lingual space and thereby causes mandibular advancement.
