Patent number: 6916010Abstract: The medical regulating valve for adjusting the flow in an infusion or transfusion procedure has a housing (2), and a valve chamber (21) into which an inlet connecting piece and an outlet connecting piece (22, 23) open. A rotating piece has a cylindrical valve plug (41) which can be inserted in the valve chamber (21) to form a seal between the plug and the chamber. The valve plug, has, on its outer periphery, at least one groove (42, 43) opposite the connecting pieces (22, 23) connecting the connecting pieces with one another in terms of flow and having a cross-section changing in the peripheral direction. An insert (3) having the shape of an annular disc overlaps the valve chamber (21) and has, on its side facing the rotating piece (4), a number of markings (35, 36, 37) lying on concentric circles. Provided on the rotating piece (4) are a number of windows (45, 46, 47) which are offset with respect to each other in the peripheral and radial directions, each being opposite one of the markings (35, 36, 37).Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2003Date of Patent: July 12, 2005Assignee: Smiths Medical Deutschland GmbHInventors: Bernd Beck, Jörg Weber

Patent number: 6915838Abstract: The invention is a method for producing a cast ceramic anode for metal oxide electrolytic reduction by feeding metallic iron and metallic nickel in solid form to an oxidizing reactor; melting and oxidizing the iron and nickel and forming molten nickel ferrite; mixing the molten nickel ferrite with dopant in a holding vessel such as ladle or tundish to increase electrical conductivity of the mixture, and casting the mixture into a mold to form a near net shape of the desired anode. Apparatus for carrying out the method, and the resulting product are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2003Date of Patent: July 12, 2005Assignee: Pel Technologies LLCInventors: David C. Patent number: 6908528Abstract: A laminated composite fabric material used for example in the manufacture of automobile air bags has at least one thermoplastic coating layer that is pressure laminated to a pre-treated fabric using an adhesive. The fabric, pre-treated with a curing agent such as an alkyl ether amine, resists penetration by the adhesive, resulting in a softer, more pliable composite fabric. The composite fabric also optionally includes a layer comprising a silicone polyurethane copolymer or acrylic cross-linked with a blocked isocyanate, which functions as a non-stick coating. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a laminated composite fabric.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2001Date of Patent: June 21, 2005Assignee: Reeves Brothers, Inc.Inventor: James F. Hayes

Patent number: 6814213Abstract: A molded plastics bearing housing for receiving a roller bearing which is press-fitted into and end of a conveyor roller tube is disclosed. The body portion of the housing extends radially inward as neck portion terminates in two rims, one rim sealing against the shaft supporting the conveyor roller and the other sealing against an inner race of the bearing. Both sealing rims are curved in section so as to make low angles with the roller shaft and bearing. The flexibility of this sealing arrangement absorbs axial movements between the conveyor shaft and the roller.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2002Date of Patent: November 9, 2004Assignee: JLV Industries Pty LTDInventors: Kingsley Bruce Dyson, Derek Alfred Sealey

Patent number: 6802886Abstract: The invention is a method of making metallized iron agglomerates by combining iron/steel particles and a reductant material with a cellulose fiber binder material, compacting the combination to form a solid agglomerate, and reducing the iron portions of the agglomerate in a direct reduction furnace. The cellulose fiber binder material provides an agglomerate having improved strength and lower overall cost than comparable agglomerates using binders known in the art.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2001Date of Patent: October 12, 2004Assignee: Midrex Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Glenn E. Patent number: 6778177Abstract: A method for rasterizing a graphic primitive (120) in a graphics system generates, starting from graphic primitive description data, pixel data for the graphic primitive, the graphics system comprising a memory which is divided up into a plurality of blocks (a, a+1, b, b+1) which are each associated with a predetermined one of a plurality of areas on a mapping screen (114). Each block of the plurality of blocks (a, a+1, b, b+1) is associated with a memory page in the memory. The method includes scanning the pixels associated with the graphic primitive (120) in one of the plurality of blocks (a) into which the graphic primitive extends, repeating the preceding steps until all of the pixels associated with the graphic primitive have been scanned in each of the plurality of blocks into which the graphic primitive extends, and outputting the pixel data.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2002Date of Patent: August 17, 2004Assignee: SP3D Chip Design GmbHInventor: Wolfgang Furtner
