    Abstract: A gas turbine engine rotor has a body and blades, which are attached to the rotor by a root portion, for receiving a hot fluid flow and a compressed fluid from a compressor. Each blade has a base portion, an external airfoil surface, a blade flow portion of the airfoil, and a passage system communicating with the compressor and with the blade flow portion to create a thermal insulating boundary between the heated fluid and the external airfoil surface. The rotor has a substantially planar platform member, extending substantially transversally to the body of the blade and having an upstream portion protruding in the direction toward the combustion zone. The platform member has at least a pair of openings on either side of the airfoil, the openings being positioned in series along the blade flow portion. One opening of the pair defines an inclined passage in the platform member, and the other opening is separated by a partition from the first opening.

    Abstract: A kind of composite metal coil/plate includes one parent metal coil/plate and at least one clad metal coil/plate as well as an interlayer composed of atoms of a brazing filler, the parent metal and the clad metal. The interlayer is about 2-10 &mgr;m in thickness. The present invention also relates to a method of manufacturing composite metal coil/plate. The method comprises pre-cladding the parent and clad metal coils/plates as well as the brazing filler foil in an inert or reductive atmosphere at 850-1000° C., and hot rolling cladding the same under inert or reductive atmosphere at 900-1050° C. A composite metal plate is obtained after cooling.

The display apparatus has a base assembly including an anchoring point, and a plurality of spaced first magnets disposed in spaced relation relative to the anchoring point; a suspension member including a longitudinal axis, opposite two ends, a second magnet, and a radially disposed third magnet member, and wherein the first magnets are operable to magnetically support the suspension member in a suspended state; a tether for tethering the suspension member to the anchoring point; and an electromagnet for electromagnetically impelling the third magnet member when the suspension member is rotated about its longitudinal axis thereby maintaining the rotation of the suspension member.
