Abstract: A process for alkylating isoparaffin hydrocarbons with olefin hydrocarbons for production of high octane gasoline range alkylate wherein the alkylation reaction is performed in the presence of a sulfuric acid alkylation catalyst containing from about 0.0005 to about 0.5 weight percent of a selected micelle forming amphiphilic compound, and wherein the reaction is carried out in a non-backmixed tubular reactor.
Abstract: NN'N" tris (alkyl) phosphoric triamide alkylation aids of the formula ##EQU1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are selected from straight or branched chain alkyl having 10 to 24 carbon atoms each, for use in strong acid catalyzed reactions wherein alkylatable hydrocarbons are alkylated with alkylating agents. Also, alkylation processes employing such alkylation aids.
Abstract: Corrosion of aluminum metal by sulfuric acid solution is inhibited by addition of soluble fluoride compounds to the acid solutions. Such corrosion inhibition allows use of aluminum as a construction material in process units, particularly sulfuric acid alkylation units, heretofore constructed of heavier and/or more expensive materials.
