  • Patent number: 4933113
Abstract: Contaminated surface layers are decontaminated by treatment with an aqueous fluorine base-containing decontamination solution. The aqueous decontamination solution contains 0.05 to 50 Mol of decontamination agent per liter, and the decontamination agent preferably at least one substance from the group: hexafluorosilicate acid, fluoroboric acid, and the salts of both of these. The decontamination solution produces the required high decontamination factors on pressurized water reactors, boiling water reactors, metallic substances, high temperature alloys and brickworks as well. The used decontamination solution can, after regeneration, by recycled into the decontamination process. Release of decontaminated material by dissolution of the surface layer of the decontaminated objects provides decontamination of objects having complicated and hard-to-measure geometries. • Patent number: 4930404
Abstract: The very high pressure piston pump can compress a conveying agent (20) to a pressure of approximately 22 kbar. The high pressure sealing comprises a pressure-compensated ice sealing, which operates free of leakage and with reduced friction. To reduce the generally very high frictional forces in the ice sealings, a rotation is superimposed on the translation of the piston (10). The entire machine may be regulated by means of a microprocessor, depending upon the operational parameters and the feed efficiency. Its very high pressure seal has a long service life, even under continued operation in very high pressure ranges.

  • Patent number: 4921113
Abstract: A snap closure with original seal safety is particularly suited for bottles with bulging rim areas on the bottle neck. The original safety sealing takes place by means of a release element, which comprises a pressing element which is bounded on both sides by weak points. The release element forms a portion of the circumferential wall. In order that the release element not be torn further than desired, the weak points proceeding in the axial direction of the closure reach only into the area of an annular bulge positioned on the internal surface of the circumferential wall. The release element itself, which has at least one corrugation, is connected with the circumferential wall by means of a film hinge, and can pivot by 90 degrees upon destruction of the weak points.

  • Patent number: 4921243
Abstract: A motion device which provides circulatory stimulation and therapy of vascular disorders of legs. The motion device comprises two pivoting pedals positioned in a heel area on a base plate. The pedals are connected to a mechanism positioned between the pedals. The mechanism comprises a crank system having a shaft which is parallel to the pivoting axis of the pedals so that the pedals must be moved in push-pull motion. The shaft is connected with a transmission gearing which drives a flywheel. Thus the user of the device can easily overcome the top dead center points during operation. Through the use of a brake operating lightly on the flywheel, the necessary magnitude of force when stepping on the pedals can be sensitively adjusted.

  • Patent number: 4915293
Abstract: A sheltered and repositionably mounted enclosure having a housing secured to and supported by a mounting post. The mounting post is positioned within a mounting sleeve. An outer ring-shaped gasket is attached to an inner wall of the mounting sleeve. An inner ring-shaped gasket is attached to a mounting post. The inner ring-shaped gasket abuts the outer ring-shaped gasket thereby forming a sealed space within the mounting sleeve and supporting the mounting post within the mounting sleeve. A retainer having a mound shape with a depression in the middle of the mound is attached to the bottom of the mounting sleeve. A mounting post bottom of the mounting post abuts the depression of the mound and thus the mounting post is supported in an approximately vertical position within the mounting sleeve. The mounting post is repositionable within the mounting sleeve and with respect to the retainer after the mounting post is displaced from the depression of the retainer.

The upper part has, on its inner side, an extending portion with projecting sealing elements which form, with the outlet of a container, a sealing connection. The upper part is additionally connected with the lower part in a pivoting manner by a snap hinge. The snap hinge is connected with the upper part by a film hinge, and connected with the lower part by a film hinge. For purposes of opening, the film hinge connecting the upper part and the lower part is bent. The closure can be placed or screwed onto a container with its lower part. The closure can be produced in a closed condition.

  • Patent number: 4908733
Abstract: A switch box for wall attachment with a box-like cabinet body having a rear wall and four side walls, the open side of which body can be closed by a cabinet cover or a cabinet door. Using thin starting materials for the cabinet body, an increase of stability, in addition to the possibility of further attachment locations, can be attained by attaching a mounting angle in each of four corner areas on the internal side of the rear wall. The legs of the mounting angle, provided with threaded mounts, are positioned in a plane parallel to the rear wall and spaced at a distance therefrom. At least one external longitudinal side of a leg is provided with a recess for fixing a support strip which is firmly screwed in the area of the open side of the cabinet body. • Patent number: 4899458
Abstract: A process and apparatus for centering a pilot shaft which is inserted into a valve guide of a valve seat to be machined, and serves therein as a guide mandrel for a rotary shaping tool. By electronically controlled drive mechanisms, the pilot shaft is supported in a central position by a swiveling ball maintained in a swivelable manner between two clamping shells, and is held between two displaceable clamping plates and centered in the valve guide. To center the pilot shaft, it is moved in two crossing directions by the drive mechanisms through the horizontal displacement of the clamping shells. The clamping shells are successively moved to their two end positions of their two crossing displacement directions. The displacement path lying between these end positions is electronically measured. The drive mechanisms then move the clamping shells into the electronically determined central position of the two measured displacement ranges.

  • Patent number: 4899900
Abstract: The invention relates to a switching box with a framework support formed from framework side units. The switching box is sealed by having a bottom wall, top wall, two side walls, and the open sides of which can be closed by means of a cabinet door and a rear wall, or by means of two cabinet doors. The framework side units form a hollow profile, which have identical series of holes on the two sides that stand perpendicular to one another and are oriented toward the internal space of the box. The framework side units have a protruding sealing bar on the side which toward the external side of the box. The costs of parts and labor necessary for assembly are reduced while retaining universal construction. At least one portion of the framework side units are formed by multiple bending in a single piece with the bottom wall, the top wall and/or the side walls plates.

  • Patent number: 4896999
Abstract: A wall block set comprising frontal blocks, anchoring blocks and connecting blocks. The frontal blocks have a forward side with a texture similar to natural stone, and have dovetail projections which are integrally formed on the rear side of the frontal block. The frontal blocks having a base width are inserted in irregular alternation. Another type of front side has a hollow shape and therefore permits planting of foliage. The anchoring blocks and connecting blocks form distancing elements with dovetail projections, lying opposite to one another, with the same dimension as the projections of the frontal blocks. Through the interlacing of the frontal blocks with these anchoring and connecting blocks, double-faced dry walls of various thicknesses, as well as slope walls, which are secured on the slope by means of retainers, may be constructed.

  • Patent number: 4895254
Abstract: This invention pertains to a device for long-term supply for earth and hydrocultures. Conventionally, an especially designed sub-atmospheric pressure tank is manufactured for each plant vessel--as small or large container--that has proven to be expensive. The main problem of these water supply tanks are either an unfavorable use and arrangement of space (revolving tank), or their refill possibilities conceal under some circumstances the danger of tank leakiness. And necessary water-level indicators are lacking entirely. The industry offers no optimal planting vessels for the long-term watering of earth culture flowers, including bonsais. The invented device solves these problems through a tank, functioning according to the principle of sub-atmospheric pressure, which consists of at least two dimensionally stable partial tanks or tank parts, that are relatively movable against each other connected to each other.
