  • Patent number: 8047895
Abstract: The invention relates to a machining device (5) comprising a workpiece (8) and at least one machining tool (23, 40, 41) and a measuring device (1, 22) and a seat (20) for the workpiece (8) to be machined. The workpiece (8) has a reference surface (26, 32, 33) that is disposed on the workpiece (8) and interacts with the machining device (5) in such a manner that a contour can be produced on this reference surface (26, 32, 33) using the machining tool (23, 40, 41) and that the contour (34, 35, 50) can be detected by the measuring device (1, 22) after machining. The method for controlling a machining device (5) comprises the following steps: introducing a contour (34, 35, 50) into the workpiece (8) to be machined in the longitudinal direction of advance of the machining tool (23, 40, 41); measuring the contour (34, 35, 50) in the workpiece (8) produced by machining; adjusting the machining plan while taking into consideration the determined tool geometry.

  • Patent number: 8045720
Abstract: The invention provides a method for dynamic determination of time constants to be used in a detection of the signal level of an input signal of unknown level in an electric circuit, comprising the following steps: —feed the input signal through an auxiliary level detection means that is reacting faster to changes in the input sound signal level than the detection of the signal level as a whole, —feed either the input signal or the output of the auxiliary level detection means through a guided level detection means, which is arranged with a guided time constant, and where the guided level detection means outputs an estimate of the level of the input signal, —analyze the outputs of the auxiliary and the guided level detector means, determine the time constant of the guided level detection means based on this analysis.

  • Patent number: 8043184
Abstract: A vehicle differential assembly is provided that includes a differential adapted to allow differing rotational speed between a pair of outputs. The differential includes a gear assembly connected to the outputs and one or more hydraulically-actuated clutches for selectively and variably coupling the outputs. A hydraulic pump is adapted to generate hydraulic fluid pressure for engagement of the hydraulically-actuated clutches. A variable-engagement clutch is operatively connected to the input and the hydraulic pump such that the input selectively drives the hydraulic pump during engagement of the clutch to provide hydraulic fluid pressure to the hydraulically-actuated clutches. A valve operatively connected to the hydraulic pump and the hydraulically-actuated clutches to selectively and variably provides fluid pressure from the hydraulic pump to the hydraulically-actuated clutches. • Patent number: 8042526
Abstract: A torsion damping mechanism for a rotary blower is provided that includes an input hub adapted to engage a first end of a torsion spring and an output hub adapted to engage a second end of the torsion spring. An intermediate hub is fixed for rotation with a first drive member. A bearing member includes an inner portion connected for rotation with the intermediate hub and an outer portion connected for rotation with the output hub. The bearing member may be a one-way bearing that permits torque to flow from the output hub into the intermediate hub and the first drive member when the output hub is driven in a first rotational direction, and permits the output hub to rotate relative to the intermediate hub with no substantial torque transfer therebetween when the output hub is driven in a second rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 8040082
Abstract: A linear actuator includes a spindle nut, where the spindle nut and the spindle between a first and a second point, indicating the length of stroke, can move axially in proportion to each other, depending on whether the spindle or the spindle nut is being driven around via the transmission, and where the position is determined with incremental position sensors, such as at least two Hall sensors or Reed-switches. For determining the position an initiating procedure, where the nut/spindle is moved from a first point on the spindle/nut to a second point on the spindle nut is carried out, and that the number of pulses from the incremental position sensors appearing by it are registered as a measurement for the length of stroke, and the position is subsequently determined in relation to that. It is noted that the control is active before, during and after the operation of the motor.

  • Patent number: 8035358
Abstract: A voltage regulator is provided that includes a plurality of buck-boost transformers each having primary and secondary windings. The secondary windings of the transformers are electrically disposed in series between a source and a load. Each transformer is controlled by a plurality of control switches configured to control the voltage across the primary winding of a corresponding transformer. A controller monitors the output voltage and generates control signals for the switches. The transformers generate different voltage level changes in between the source and load and the voltages across the primary windings are capable of assuming opposite polarities to enable scaling of resolution and range. The voltage regulator efficiently regulates power with relatively few or no moving parts and also partially protects the power switching components by removing them from the path of the load current thereby producing a device that is smaller in size, costs less and is more reliable.
