Abstract: A polycarbonate containing a repeating segment represented by Formula (I)
wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, aryl; R2 represents a divalent linkage selected from the group consisting of alkylene containing one or more heteroatoms of halogen, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur, silicon, and phosphorus, arylalkylene, and arylene; Ar1 and Ar2 each independently represent aromatic groups; and P represents a hydrogen atom, or a hydroxyl protective group.
