  • Patent number: 6659195
Abstract: A drive head for supporting a soil sampling tube in a drive assembly in which the head and tube are driven into the ground by a power source connected to the head or to at least one drive rod connected to the head. The drive head has a body portion in the configuration of a truncated cone, which is provided with an integral upper threaded nipple for attaching to the drive rod, and an integral lower threaded nipple for attaching to the sampling tube. The drive head has, in addition, a solid body provided with a venting passageway that extends from the lower threaded nipple to an outer surface of the truncated cone for venting air from the head and tube when the head and tube are driven into the ground.

  • Patent number: 5474573
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of suturing the abomasum of a ruminant animal. The method includes inserting one end of a cannula through the belly of the animal and into the lumen of the abomasum. One end of a suture and toggle attached thereto is inserted through a bore of the cannula and into the lumen by travel of a trocar through the bore behind the toggle. The extent of the travel of the cannula into the lumen is limited by providing an outer end of the cannula with a flange that engages the hide of the animal and the travel of the trocar through the bore of the cannula is limited by providing the trocar with a handle that abuts against the flange of the cannula.

  • Patent number: 4922057
Abstract: An electrical box for receiving a wiring device and having means for the reception of a conductor for connection to the wiring device. A relatively flat conductor retaining member is disposed in opposed tracts provided in the box that allows slidable movement of the flat member in the box. The member is adapted to secure a conductor in the box when slidably moved to engage the conductor, and for releasing the conductor by simply lifting the rear edge of the flat member above a ledge in the front of the box, and sliding the flat member past the ledge and from the conductor.

  • Patent number: 4745722
Abstract: A wall and corner structure for an enclosure that includes vertically disposed, load bearing board members resting on a foundation structure. Horizontal boards are secured to opposed sides of the vertical board members at locations thereon that provide horizontal spaces between the horizontal boards. A double wall corner arrangement is provided by abutting a first set of inner and outer boards against the inner board of a second set located at a right angle to the first set. This allows the second set to extend to or beyond the outer board of the first set. Such an arrangement alternates at the corner in a vertical direction. Mortar material is located in the horizontal spaces between the horizontal board, the mortar extending to the corner to provide a continuous seam.

  • Patent number: 4706610
Abstract: A livestock data indicator is made up of two parallel plastic members adapted to be folded together by plastic hinges disposed between and joining the two members, the plastic members being held together by studs on one of the members which fit into corresponding holes in the other so as to secure hairs, for example of the mane of a horse or the tail of a cow, therebetween and not be brushed off the animal on which used by switching of the tail against a fence or other obstructive object or rubbing the mane against a gate or the like. For additional security the inside of each of the two members, that is, the sides or surfaces which are folded and attached together, preferably have rows of teeth thereon which aid in holding or locking the hairs in place when the two members are snapped together.

  • Patent number: 4684087
Abstract: A grocery bag holder is made up principally of at least partially tubular components which include rails, upper end cross members and corner supports as parts of a kit to be assembled by locking keys into keyways. Upper rails join the upper end cross members together in rectangular-like form. Lower rails join corner supports together, the far ends of the corner supports having keys which fit into keyways of the upper end cross members, the corner supports being L-shaped. Each corner support has a key at a smaller diameter end thereof and a keyway at a larger diameter end. Each rail has a key at each end thereof. Corner supports and upper end cross members are each of one piece. Rails may be of two parts which may be screwed or otherwise fastened together, or they may exist as separate pieces in the kit adapted to be put together when the whole grocery bag holder is assembled from kit parts.
