Abstract: An incineration kiln of the slagging mode, which has an outer shell and a protective layer inside the shell with quantum failure identifiers. The quantum failure identifiers recognizes one or more stages of increasing degree of failure of the protective layer, so that an operator may be warned and take suitable measures to protect further deterioration of the protective layer and restore the same.

Abstract: Devices for making reaction products by atomizing a first liquid (in the form of droplets) containing a reactant into a gas containing a second reactant. The reaction is controlled by monitoring the pre-coalescing temperature (temperature of the droplets just before they coalesce into a mass of liquid), or transient temperature difference (difference between the pre-coalescing temperature and the temperature of the droplets just before being atomized), or transient conversion (conversion taking place in the time interval between the formation of the droplets and their coalescence into a mass of liquid) or a combination thereof.

Abstract: Devices are disclosed for forming egg-yolk disks by wire-cutting egg-yolk material extruded from a main cylinder. The main cylinder ends to an extrusion-head. The extrusion head may be threaded on a cylinder to a desired degree, so that during the disk-cutting process, the cutting wire slides on the front surface of the extrusion head. The Devices may also have a mechanism for locking the extrusion head in position. Miscellaneous mechanisms for wetting the cutting wire are also disclosed.
Abstract: Methods of making intermediate oxidation products by atomizing a first liquid containing a reactant into a gas containing an oxidant in a manner to form an intermediate oxidation product different than carbon monoxide and/or carbon dioxide. The oxidation is controlled by monitoring the transient conversion (conversion taking place in the time interval between the formation of the droplets and their coalescence into a mass of liquid) of first reactant to oxidation product just before the droplets coalesce into a mass of a second liquid.

Abstract: A box of the type to hold pies, such as pizza pies, which comprises a basic cardboard structure and a restrainer in an inactive form. When the box has been used for its purpose and it is time to be disposed of, the box is destructively folded into a log-shaped structure, which is prevented from spontaneously unfolding by activation of the restrainer.

Abstract: A portable telephone, which is used for emergency purposes. It is powered by a battery, which has a short life counterbalanced by higher power, thus improving efficiency and effectiveness of the emergency portable telephone. The battery may be sealed in a container for prolonging the life of the battery during the period of time that the telephone is inactive. In an emergency situation, the container may be pierced, and the battery freed to perform its duty.
Abstract: A measuring dispenser for dispensing liquids from a single or multiple container is disclosed. In the case of single container, the container has a normally closed first valve, while a measuring cup connected to the container has a normally open second valve. These two valves are made to operate concurrently, so that when one valve is closed the other valve is open, and vice versa. The dispenser may also have a supplementary container with a third valve, which may be arranged to open and close independently of the other two valves, or preferably to be closed when the first valve is closed, and open when the first valve is open, and at the same time be adaptable to provide a liquid flow rate of a desired relation with respect to the liquid flow provided by the first valve.
Abstract: A dental hygiene product, and more particularly dental floss comprising a fiber having a core of a segmented polymer. The segments of the polymer are a combination of soft segments, preferably of polyether or polyester type, and of hard segments selected from a group consisting of polyurethane, polyamide, polyimide, and a mixture thereof. The content in hard segments is 5-40% of the polymer by weight. The dental floss of this invention is characterized by exceptionally robust elastic properties, which are necessary to ensure effective and efficient cleaning of teeth.

Abstract: Methods and structural configurations of modular barrier systems and cutoff walls used to isolate contaminated soils from the environment in situ. The cutoff walls comprise plastic sheets, preferably of high density polyethylene, inserted in or adjacent to dense soil (such as bentonite modified) walls, and they are connected to each other with tubular connectors having flaps to which the plastic sheets are connected, preferably by welding.
Abstract: A toothless ratchet and clutch mechanisms chararacterized by substantially continuous engagement of the rachet wheel, thus allowing the mechanism to operate even under very limited-space conditions. Also, a biasing mechanism for the stem of the socket driver of the rachet or clutch, which eliminates backlash, if the stem is undersized as compared to the socket cavity which receives the stem.
Abstract: A simulated hard cooked egg-yolk composition, shaped egg-yolks, eggs comprising such egg-yolks, as well as methods for making the same, by utilizing colored pureed egg-white, of preferably increased solids, along with a grain preserving agent. This invention also encompasses food products containing one or more of the above simulated entities.
Abstract: Methods and devices for controlling rotary incineration kilns by determining and controlling the viscosity of slag which is formed in such kilns. These methods and devices are based on measuring one or more properties or parameters of drippings of the slag falling from the ceiling of the kiln, as the kiln rotates. The parameters are size of drippings, shape of drippings, aspect ratio of drippings, and number of drippings.

Abstract: A foldable box having, in addition to primary folding lines and flat segments, a number of latent destructive lines in a direction perpendicular to the length of the unfolded box. The latent destructive lines do not interfere with the formation and the normal function of the box. However, they serve to facilitate an irreversible destruction of the box, when the box is forced to be folded into a log-like structure.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling the viscosity of slag contained in a rotary incinerating kiln by detecting the position at which the slag exits the outlet of the kiln, thereby determining changes in the viscosity of the slag. If the viscosity deviates from a predetermined range of values, appropriate additives are supplied to the slag for bringing the viscosity back to within the range of the predetermined values. There is also disclosed a method and apparatus for measuring viscosity as "angular" viscosity.

Abstract: A foldable box having, in addition to primary folding lines and flat segments, a number of latent score lines in a direction perpendicular to the length of the unfolded box. The latent score lines do not interfere with the formation and the normal function of the box. However, they serve to facilitate an irreversible destruction of the box, when the box is forced to be folded into a log-like structure.

Abstract: A simulated egg, preferably cholesterol-free, capable of having the yolk and liquid egg-white together but in separate phases, so that upon cooking, the simulated egg looks and behaves like a natural egg. Migration of ingredients from the egg-yolk to the egg-white and vice versa is minimized. The egg is preferably packaged in individual portions in flexible inexpensive pouches.
Abstract: Methods of preparing simulated eggs, preferably chloesterol-free, capable of having the yolk and liquid egg-white together but in separate phases, so that upon cooking, the simulated eggs look and behave like natural eggs. This is achieved by heating the simulated yolks, which contain a negative thermoreversible gel former, such as albumin, until a shell or crust is formed around each yolk, while the inside of the yolk remains still liquid. It may also be achieved by breading a frozen simulated yolk with special types of hydrocolloids. Also, yolks made according to the above methods.
Abstract: A vibration-resistant two-member fastening device characterized by quick lock and release. The first of the two members has an engagement edge which is adaptable to apply pressure on the second member. The second member has either a recessed surface or a threadline, the diameter of which decreases from a front point away from the head towards a back point close to the head.
