Abstract: A glow plug having an outer body with an inner cavity having tapered sidewalls. An insulating ring having outer tapered walls is held within the body and has an inner opening also having tapered walls. A central electrode, having a tapered wall section, fits tightly in the inner opening of the insulating ring. The insulating ring and central electrode are forced under pressure in the cavity of the glow plug to provide a glow plug capable of withstanding high temperature and pressure applications without leaking.
Abstract: A mass transfer device having a fluid permeable core wound with many stands of a hollow fiber. A bulk fluid enters the interior of the core, passes through the side wall of the core, and along the outer surfaces of the hollow fibers. A baffle positioned in the center of the core so that the bulk fluid passes outwardly upstream of the baffle and inwardly through the core along the downstream of the block.
Abstract: An adjustable collar for attachment around a handle such as the handle of a baseball bat. The adjustable collar has a rubber-like strip which has a strap affixed to its outer face. The strap extends past the rubber strip and has a ring at one end and a free end at the other end. The rubber-like strip is pressed against the place on the handle where it is desired to be attached and the free end is passed through the ring and is looped back toward the free end and affixed to the strap by a hook and loop fastener or other removable fastening structure.
Abstract: A nail clipping assembly holds a pair of conventional nail clippers in a holder. The holder can also support a light source which is positioned close enough to a subject's finger tip to illuminate the interior of the finger tip. This exposes the intersection between a finger nail which is part of a finger and the exposed nail portion, some or all of which will be cut by the nail clippers.
Abstract: An improved bicycle saddle having a shell which supports at least one battery operated vibrator. When the vibrator is energized, its vibration causes the shell and therefore the bicycle seat to vibrate. The vibrator has an on/off switch so that it may be turned on periodically by the rider to improve the comfort of the bicycle saddle. The bicycle saddle is preferably supported by a rail which has two arms which extend from the front of the underside of the shell to near the back of the shell. A bearing is affixed about the end of each of the arms so that the arms may move inwardly and outwardly along the underside of the shell as the shell is flexed. The shell preferably has a central, angled valley and the saddle is flexible to provide further comfort.
Abstract: A quick set-up tilt table for securement to a precision vise of a tool. The tilt table is made from a plate of metal with a pair of flat parallel sides with holes formed in an arc for insertion of pins. The tilt table may be placed in the precision vise with pins inserted in appropriately marked holes and resting against the top of the precision vise to provide an upper surface to which a clamping fixture may be attached at the desired angle.
Abstract: A ladder with a fixed axle wheel adapted to facilitate relocating the ladder. The ladder may be a step ladder or an extension ladder. The ladder includes a ladder base adapted to reside on a support surface, a ladder top opposite the ladder base, and ladder sides connected by steps, the ladder sides extending between the ladder base and the ladder top. The wheel is attached to one of the sides near the ladder base and is adapted to rollably support the ladder base when the ladder is moved. The wheel may be recessed into an opening on the ladder side to allow a larger diameter wheel to be used.
Abstract: A light emitting diode having a helical spring around one of its leads. The spring extends so that it has a free end which is cantilevered. As the free end of the spring moves it completes an electrical circuit intermittently lighting the light emitting diode.
