Abstract: A jogging device comprises a padded completely rigid platform freely suspended with and by a frame by a dual spring arrangement. The frame has an upper curved surface to which a cantilever spring is attached; the cantilever spring is in series with a coil extension spring which is attached to the platform.

Abstract: A flashing door sign comprises a casing having illuminable house numbers at the front thereof. The casing contains red and white light bulbs which are selectively operable by a switch located inside of the house; the switch has positions corresponding to a continuous white light, flashing white light, and flashing red light to indicate an emergency. The switch must be moved in a non-rotational direction to enter the emergency position.

Abstract: A palatal appliance for maintaining humidity in the mouth and respiratory tract consists of a rigid plastic shell which substantially conforms to hard palate. The shell has a recess in the upper portion thereof to hold a sponge which can be saturated with liquid. Apertures extending through the floor of the recess allow the liquid to flow into the mouth at a controlled rate.

Abstract: An adaptor for a hand-operated power machine tool, such as a power screwdriver, comprises a sleeve adapted to receive a cutting tool bit in the forward end and an aperture for slidably engaging the shank of the screwdriver bit in the rearward end. The sleeve preferably also comprises a concentric bearing-mounted grip allowing free relative motion between the grip and the sleeve. The adaptor is used for performing a series of operations where a guide cutting is first made in a workpiece, and then a screw is driven into the guide hole.

Abstract: An article fabricated from a flexible foam material, such as foam rubber, is compressed by encasing the article in a substantially air-tight sack, and withdrawing air from the sack, thereby reducing the size of the foam article for packaging. The article may be a fabric or plastic covered object, such as a pillow or toy animal; after compression, the object is packaged in a box. The packaged article provides an unusual gift item.

Abstract: A locking mechanism for a trigger-operated firearm comprises a base plate adapted to be attached to the underside of the firearm frame, and a trigger guard member which slidably engages the base plate. The trigger guard may be moved from a forward locked position, wherein the rear portion of the arcuate trigger guard abuts the trigger thereby preventing actuation of the trigger, to a rearward activated position which allows free movement of the trigger. A spring-operated latch activates the trigger guard member in either the locked or the activated position. When the trigger guard member is in the locked position, a padlock receiving orifice in the base plate is exposed; when the shackle of a padlock is extended through this orifice in the base plate, the guard member cannot be moved to the activated position.

Abstract: An improved method for rapidly drying wigs comprises circulating air through the wig material in the presence of microwave heating. The microwave source is cycled with a cycle time of from about 1/2 second to 15 seconds on, followed by an interval of about 1/2 to 30 seconds off. An apparatus for practicing this technique comprises a microwave oven adapted with means for forced circulation of air, optionally heated, through the wig, and means for exhausting circulated air from the oven.

Abstract: A wall-mountable rack for a liquefied gas bottle comprises a base having two vertical angle iron members, an angle iron support member extending horizontally from the base, the angle iron support member having its ends attached to the two base members and having its flanges directed upwardly and inwardly to provide horizontal and vertical support to a bottle placed thereon, and means for maintaining the angle iron support in a horizontal position.
